Amaya Leger
Amaya’s best qualities are her positivity, her willingness to be open minded, and most of all, her childlike nature. Although she's fun loving like a kid, she's mature and intelligent as well. She is 17 years old and proudly attends Moncton High School with her fellow purple knights. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her good friends, to create cool art projects, or to go outside and enjoy nature. She plans to pursue a career in art with her artistic talent because its what she loves to do.
She learned about the event through her writing teacher and got excited about the idea! Her goals for this event are to share her ideas effectively and to confidently speak in front of many people. Her passion lies in motivating others to be the best they can be because she sees too many people in her life without enough motivation or the right kind. She’ll be sharing her insight on how the motivation of today's youth is being negatively affected and how they can combat it.
Amaya is always striving for happiness and hopes to influence others to do the same for themselves. She is very thrilled to share her ideas and to help out the youth of her community because she wants the best for everybody.
Beth Stevens
I am a student in grade 9 who attends Riverview High School. I enjoy playing many sports such as Field Hockey, Volleyball and Ice Hockey. I also run a small business called “Beth’s Bike Light”, we create bicycle safety lights that give drivers a visual of how much room cyclist need on the road. When I’m not playing sports or running my business you can find me outside hiking with my family and my dog Sam, or making lights for current generation! In my TedX talk, I will be talking about the importance of teaching real issues in the classroom, and I’ll be cracking a few corny jokes!

MacKenzie Lawrence
Mackenzie is above all a dedicated academic, both when it comes to schoolwork and personal educational ventures. A proud member of the Riverview High School Community, classmates can most often find Mackenzie tutoring Mr. Donovan’s grade 9 social studies class, on the way to her co-op placement where she acts as an early-childhood educator for a local daycare, or in the library with her head buried in a book. In her free time, you can find her keeping busy with Girl Guide events, as a dedicated 9th year Ranger she tries to take any opportunity to use her leadership skills, be it planning and attending camps or helping her Brownie unit explore the world, learn new things and make new friends. As a woman who is fascinated by the culture and rituals that surround death and burial across the globe and through history, and also an aficionado of sustainable lifestyle choices, Mackenzie aims to combine these two passions to bring ideas about sustainable death care solutions to her hometown. Mackenzie has a zest for life and a love of learning that helps her do anything she sets her mind to, she is so excited to share her ideas to help inspire change in her community.
Quinn MacAskill
Quinn is a 13 year-old living in Sackville, NB who attends Marshview Middle School. She has many interests including reading, drawing, soccer, basketball, playing the fiddle, and from a young age she has been a very keen writer. Quinn also loves nature, climbing trees, gardening, hiking, camping, and canoeing. Stemming from this love of nature is her strong passion for the environment. She is part of her school’s environment club that won the ‘Youth Citizen of the Year’ Award in Sackville for making Marshview the first school in NB to have a three-stream waste sorting system.
Her passion for the environment has recently been propelled further by the international youth climate strike movement. While helping to organize climate strikes in Sackville, Quinn realized the need to creatively engage people. She had combined her passions for writing and the environment, and crafted a poetry slam, a call to action for others, and has realized the power of climate art for motivating people to take on the climate crisis. The Tedx Moncton event will provide an opportunity to share this information to a broader audience, to engage people, and to help make a difference in the climate crisis.
