Jayne Leung
Vice President, Head of Greater China, Facebook
Jayne Leung is the Vice President and Head of Greater China at Facebook. Based in Hong Kong, she oversees Facebook’s business of this dynamic region. She leads the teams across the region and is responsible for accelerating growth for small and big businesses through Facebook’s innovative technologies. With two decades of experience in the media and advertising industry, she is a game-changer and has witnessed up-close the fast changes that industries have experienced over the years. In 2010, Jayne joined Facebook and set up the Hong Kong office. She was the first employee in Hong Kong, and helped build Facebook’s teams and grow businesses from scratch since then.
Jayne is a strong advocate for female leadership in the technology industry. In 2016, Jayne brought Facebook’s signature leadership program #SheMeansBusiness to Hong Kong and Taiwan to help inspire and motivate female entrepreneurs to make the most of their business online and reach global customers.
John Tsang
Founder, Esperanza | Former Financial Secretary, HKSARG
Born and raised in Hong Kong, John emigrated to the U.S. when he was a high school student. He studied architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, completed master degrees in Bilingual Education at Boston State College and in Public Administration at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He taught at the Boston Public Schools.
John returned to work as an Administrative Officer in the Hong Kong Government in 1982. He took up a number of posts related to commerce and finance. He was appointed as Commissioner of Customs and Excise, Secretary for Planning and Lands, Secretary for Commerce, Innovation and Technology, Director of the Chief Executive’s Office and in 2007, Financial Secretary. He was a Chief Executive candidate in 2017.
John is the Founder of Esperanza, a nonprofit organisation; Vice Chairman of Ion Pacific; Senior Advisor of Bowtie, a virtual insurance company; host of a weekly music program on Commercial Radio; and the fencing coach of La Salle College.
Vivek Mahbubani
Hong Kong’s Top Comedian
Vivek Mahbubani is a Hong Kong-bred bilingual stand-up comedian performing in both Cantonese and English. He was crowned the Funniest Person (in Chinese) in Hong Kong in 2007 and won at the Hong Kong International Comedy Competition in 2008. Having been ranked as the top comedian in Hong Kong, in 2014, the World Famous Laugh Factory in the USA ranked Vivek as one of the top 10 comedians in their Annual Funniest Person in the World Competition. In 2015, he was handpicked as one of the comedians to represent Asia’s best in Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s inaugural “Comedy Zone Asia” shows. In 2016, he was featured in Comedy Central’s first ever “Stand up Asia!” shows.
In 2018, he was one of the recipients of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons Selection in Hong Kong, an annual prize that started back in 1970 to showcase the city's outstanding next generation. Vivek was selected by the U.S. State Department to join the International Visitor Leadership Program in 2009.
Winnie Law
Sustainability Advocate
Winnie is the Deputy Director and Principal Lecturer at The Centre for Civil Society and Governance, The University of Hong Kong, where she teaches, co-creates and implements sustainability principles and actions. A community planner by training, Winnie believes in the power of collaboration and engagement where stakeholders are empowered with passion, knowledge and skills in the pursuit of a sustainable society. Winnie defines sustainability as a concept as well as a strategy of “achieving more, with less resources, for longer and for all.”
