In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ali Berkman

He was born in 1985 in İstanbul. He met with light in his father’s atelier, where they have been producing lighting fixtures during his secondary school years. In 2008, he graduated from Yeditepe University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. After working in a company on independent lighting design consultancy between 2009-2014, he founded ONOFF Lighting Design in 2014. ONOFF team was responsible for the lighting design of over 80 projects at different scales and typologies in countries such as Turkey, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Congo, Senegal, Qatar and Dubai. In 2017 he was among the 40 designers chosen within the scope of the ‘’40under40’’ Lighting Design Awards, which was held in London in the field of lighting design. He is currently teaching lighting design as a lecturer at the Architecture and interior Architecture Department of Haliç University and Fatih Sultan Mehmet University.

Aydoğan Temel

He was born in 1966 in Bandırma. During his school years, his interest on mathematics led him to change his school to engineering and even at his young age he made up a mathematic book on rapid solution methods. The theater, which he participated in during university years, changed his life. In his final year, he left the ITU Petroleum Engineering Dep. to Theater Dep. of the MSU Conservatory and began to be studied from this university. During these years, he started dubbing and after while he conducted dubbing and theatre together. At 19, he started the theater group of his of his own high school and has continued this business ever since. In 1986 he created founded the Beyaz Gemi Oyuncuları theater company, which produced many plays. Including plays written by himself were acted on theatre stage. He acted in many private and institutional theaters in Istanbul. Currently in private academy; he gives acting, dubbing and diction trainings and also continues to do dubbing and theater.

Ayşen Edis

Aysen Edis was born in Istanbul. She graduated from Izmir American High School in 1972. Then she got her bachelor's degree in Academy of Fine Arts in Rome , Italy on Art and History.Later on she studied Industrial Psychology in New York University. The Silva Method training that she took with her husband in Torino, 1978 became a milestone in her life. Experiencing all positive developments in her family, interpersonal relations, health andprofessional life her belief in Silva Method has increased. In 2006, she established her own company Edis Human Resources Consultancy and Training where she delivered consulting services in Human Resources Management. She took numerous trainings in Greece and in USA. In 2008, she became Silva Method Certified Instructor and one year later she became the Director for Turkey. She continious her work in Istanbul. There Aysen Edis is the only Director of Silv Turkey and Silva Method Turkey is part of the International Silva Organization.

Aytül Erçil

Scientist

Prof. Erçil has received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and in Mathematics from Boğaziçi University in 1979, M.S. and PhD in Applied Math from Brown University in 1980 and 1983 respectively, has worked at General Research Laboratories for five years. She has been a faculty member and founding director of BUPAM Pattern Analysis and Machine Vision Laboratory at Boğazici University in 1988-2001 and has been a faculty member and founding director of VPALAB Computer vision and Pattern Analysis Laboratory at Sabancı University since 2001. Prof. Erçil is Arcelik International Advisory Board member, Allianz International Advisory Board member, Swiss Innovation Advisory Board member, and European Machine Vision Association Scientific and Industrial Advisory Board member. Prof. Erçil continues her career as Serial Entrepreneur and certified angel investor. Also, she is currently a founding partner of Rebuslabs Ltd. and the majority shareholder and CEO of Vispera A.Ş.

Bahar Kitapçı

Food Photographer and Director

She studied Anthropology in an attempt to better understand the world around her. Her wish to stand on her own two feet was incentive for the student jobs she undertook, marketing coffee and household appliances, using her English and Italian. But she never forgot her childhood dream of becoming a photographer. Her personal vision of how to best shoot food made her a forerunner in daylight food photography. In 2016, she moved on into video films and YouTube ‘Refika’s cooking school’ channel became her platform for directing films and setting up the necessary mise en scene. In the same year she founded her own company, Borek Productions which is her outlet for photography and video while experimenting with innovative techniques. Her latest projects “ The Facts of Modern Life” with Refika on YouTube aims to enlighten people about eco-friendly techniques; recycling and repurposing while entertaining them at the same time.

Emre Özel

Teacher

Emre ÖZEL completed his primary and secondary education in Ankara, where he was born, and graduated from Gazi University in 2009 as a science teacher. In 2010, he started to work as a Science teacher at Bayburt Beşpınar Village Secondary School.As his second university, he graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Economics, Department of Public Administration in 2017 as an Honor Student. In 2019, he completed his graduate studies at Atatürk University, Institute of Social Sciences. Currently, A. Ü. He is continuing her third university education in Sociology Department.All of in Turkey With his extraordinary projects on different platforms of the year , The Trainer of the Year, The Teacher of the Year, Most Outstanding Teachers Such As Industry Awards, Young Teachers, Ministry of Education, Innovation and Educational Technology Directorate General of producing projects locally and nationally in the project department continues its studies and research .

Haluk Sicimoğlu

After having graduated from Akron University, where he studied business administration with a major in marketing at Ohio - United States Mr. Sicimoğlu, completed his master in marketing at Miami University – Florida. In 1991, Mr. Sicimoğlu joined ALICE BBDO Group as the director of strategic planning. He established Turkey’s first strategic planning company, FOCUS 4 in 1992. Between 1998 – 2000, Mr. Sicimoğlu was also the head of strategic planning of BBDO University in Barcelona, Spain. Since that time, he has become an enthusiast of FC Barcelona and an official member of the club. In 2013 and 2014 , he was the president of Advertising Foundation. In 2015, Mr. Sicimoğlu left his position in BBDO and he finally decided to release the entrepreneurial bug in his heart and established THAAT’S IT, his own training and consultancy company. Sicimoğlu also continues to lecture at Istanbul Bilgi University and Izmir University of Economics on brand strategy, creativity and consumer trends.

Samet Aksuoğlu

In 2007, He came to Istanbul by dreaming of becoming “communication designer” and started studying Visual Arts. After 12 years that he started his university he haven’t graduated yet because as his mother and relatives says that spending time on his bike is a waste of time. He used his bicycle for nature, disability, transportation and design to communication campaigns for to bring decision-makers to life, to arouse awareness affirm the negativity it detects in every field that comes his mind. From the beginning, he made great efforts to transport especially the disadvantaged to cycling. Since 2011, thousands of people met on tandem bike with his concept “Pedal Friendship”. Beyond turning pedals together, they tell each other their stories and travel the miles with conversation.

Sema Özpekmezci

When she was 27 years old, she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. She changed her life and career by trying to cure her own illness. In 2017, she received her education of Holistic Nutrition from Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Then she took Functional Medicine Coaching education from Institute for Functional Medicine and finished with success. After fighting type 2 diabetes for 10 years and she finally recovered it and she finds happiness with healthy life and nutrition. Her first goal is fight with sugar. The second goal is to share what she learned in this way, explain the healthy nutrition philosophy practically, keep their hands who wants to healthy nutrition. She who loves animals, autumn, sport, tree, rain, wind, soil ; is trying to fill the place in the universe that’s reserved for her by helping other humans and living creatures.

Sertaç Taşdelen

Sertaç Taşdelen was born in 1983 as the only son of a pharmacist couple in Ankara. He studied Management at Bilkent University in his hometown, where he loves the most among all the places he has travelled. He describes himself as a hopeless positive thinker, a dreamer and a very disciplined hard worker. He is a technology entrepreneur; Co-founder & CEO of "Faladdin", "Binnaz", and iyilikpaylas.org. In 2005, when he was 22, he has been head-hunted in Dubai Ernst & Young's Management Consulting Team, and lived in Dubai for 4,5 years prior being transferred to Singapore office in 2010. After quitting, he focused fully on working on his startup Binnaz remotely and travelled extensively around the globe for 5 years In 2016, he and his co-founder, created Faladdin; an A.I Fortune Teller, which then went viral and downloaded by 15 Million people around the globe. With the success of this new startup, he got international recognition and selected Endeavor Entrepreneur in late 2018.
