Last year, TEDxIMU taught you to see the unnoticed. This year, our event returns with a fresh new scope, to bring you on a journey to revisit and challenge old ideas.

The theme for TEDxIMU 2019 is ‘Take Two🎬: Pause & Rewind’. To get the details right and fit the director’s vision, movie scenes are often shot in more than one take. We embrace the idea that it takes more than one attempt to get the big picture. First impressions play a major role in how we perceive something, far more than anything else. Through our theme, we intend to have our audience appreciate the importance of reassessing these early preconceptions. To achieve this, we will invite different speakers to deliver their talks on the values of self-reflection and changing perspectives. We want our audience to take ideas of which they only have a surface understanding and re-examine them, to grok the many nuances and subtleties that shape our worldviews.

TEDxIMU 2019 is an exercise in reflection, for its attendees to take a step back and re-examine beliefs long held to be common truth. It takes great courage to challenge your own perception of the world. TEDxIMU offers an opportunity for participants to banish assumptions and preconceptions about the world, and to deal with the world as it is.
