Wonder is a feeling of surprise and a miracle. Wonder also means to be curious to know something and to feel doubt.
Wonder is astonishment itself. When we face unfamiliar and surprising things, we have a sense of wonder. We feel our heart beating faster when we saw and touched something we had never seen before, when we saw a scenery so dazzling that we couldn’t have possibly captured all the beauty in a photograph, or when we heard about an original idea or amazing experience.
Moreover, wonder is beginning of understanding. We begin understanding our world by wondering about it. We have all wondered the answers to our questions. We have all wondered who we are and have gone through the uneasy process of realizing one’s identity. We have learned about our society by talking with people who have led completely different lives. All these moments of realization began from curiosity about oneself and the world.
Furthermore, wonder is the driving force for change. After all, the world is driven by wonder. As we seek for answers to each problem, we realize technologies that we could only imagined. Just a little curiosity sometimes leads to a great work or discovery. As we question things taken for granted and unfair customs that were passed on, we create a new world.
Wonder is astonishment itself, and the power inside of us that surprisingly changes ourselves and the world. However, many people think that wonder is a special thing which very few of great men can have. Because they don’t have lots of opportunities to face wonder which is always around us. By providing audiences with the opportunity to contemplate the meaning of wonder, our conference will lead them to deeper understanding of their power of wonder.

Eunjeong Kwak
Audio Engineer
Eunjeong Kwak is an audio engineer. She has worked with some of the famous artists and producers in Korea. She records the music and adjust its sound. After her engineering, the music we listen to become presentable. Audio engineers are often defined by being technicians in music but she believes that audio engineering is as much art as it is science. That is reason why she defines herself as an artist, not just an engineer. As an artist, she is constantly exploring the way to make the perfect sound for the musicians’ sonic vision.Jihyun Park
Art director
Park jihyun is an art director. She finds town which owns special stories and shares it by making stores. She works for urban regeneration by preserving tracks of towns. It is a different point with traditional development work. She makes Ikseong-dong as a famous town which has own specialities. Through these works, she tries to find and protect land values. Now she works for urban regeneration of Soje-dong by making its own stories.Minsup Lee
Entrepreneur (CEO of Moonclestory)
Minsup Lee is a co-representative of a social enterprise Moonclestory, which aims to record the stories of normal people around us into biographies. After realizing that he wasn't very aware of the life story of his own parents, he became curious of the stories of people close to us and was surprised how we can be so indifferent to them. He and his coworkers interview and publish the stories of normal people around us, with the belief that their stories allow a better understanding between different walks of life and add richness to our collective view of history.Suhyun Lee
Space Robotics Group (KONGDOLE production)
What if we make the turret in the game in real? Why don't we make a dust-free mask for people wearing glasses? How can we build something to give people joy? Out of lots of questions, curiosity and imaginations, KONGDOLE Space Robotics, or KONGDOLE Production, of which Suhyun Lee is the representative, creates something incredible and sometimes ridiculous. What they do is called 'making', building almost anything one can imagine using engineering. To Lee, the life of doing things that we 'want' is as important as that of doing things that we 'should' do. He says it doesn't matter what we are interested in, but the fact that we do feel joy toward something is important. He believes living a life pursuing one's own pure enjoyment makes the world more exiting and cheerful. He tells the audience a story of 'making' filled with fun and challenges, and further, the value of living a life of pursuing joy and interest.Yuong-Nam Lee
Vertebrate Paleontologist
Yuong-Nam Lee is a vertebrate paleontologist, who gives a closer insight about the Mesozoic era by studying dinosaur fossils. He is now a professor in Seoul National University who is well-known for solving mystery of “horrible hand” Deinocherius for the first time. From small numbers of fossils, he could understand the whole dinosaur through the power of wonder. Looking at the shapes of nests or footprints, he could show not only the dinosaur’s physical traits but also the habits and the environment they had lived. Are these dinosaurs that ruled the earth now completely gone? By following out his work to define out mysterious dinosaur, professor Lee gives insight to us that we are still living with dinosaurs. In what way that dinosaurs live with us? And what would be their message that they want to send us?Organizing team
