TEDxTokyo yz, launched in June 2010, is an off-shoot of TEDxTokyo and periodically hold small- to mid-scale TEDx events and salons. We are dedicated to making a positive impact on society and taking concrete steps towards a sustainable future. Through our activities, we are growing into a community of entrepreneurial and innovative young doers in the Tokyo area, and aiming to expand globally.
"yz" refers to the Generation Y and Z, currently around the age of 10’s, 20’s and 30’. They are the generations full of potential that create now and lead us to future. TEDxTokyo yz focuses on this age range, but not to be exclusive and limited to it.
In addition to the spirit of TED, "Ideas Worth Spreading," we motivate and enable talented young people to think critically, dig oneself deeply, speak up, take initiative, and practice. Not only do we expect encouragement through enthusiastic speeches and innovative visions of the speakers, but also function as a hub-community, sharing connections, information and inspiration. We believe that these interactions are essential in bringing significant impact and creating a butterfly effect.
