In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Adavya Bhutani

Student
A second year IBDP student here at Strawberry Fields, Adavya is passionate about speedcubing, which is the act of solving a Rubik’s cube or similar permutation puzzle as fast as possible. He is a part-time magician and a full-time programmer entertaining people and solving their problems. A die hard football fan, he has not missed a single game of his favorite club Real Madrid.

Ganeemat Kaur

Ganeemat Kaur, a student of Class 11 thrives on unique intellectual expeditions in Philosophy, with a focus on stoicism and nihilism. Deeply grateful for the privileges that she’s enjoyed during her life, Ganeemat sees life in everything, prompting her to personify inanimate objects as part of a book that she is currently authoring, entitled “The Fourth Perspective.” A highly emotionally-driven individual, she brings a fresh take on conventional issues, an attribute that she showcased through her position as the President of the SFHS MUN 2019.

Nehmat Sandhu

Strawberry Fields High School Co-Curricular Captain, Nehmat Sandhu, has most recently been the co-convener of the SFHS Parliamentary Debate Competition. This is not surprising, considering that she is always up for an intellectually stimulating discussion about anything under the sun! As the Chief of Staff for the SFHS MUN 2019, she has honed her interest in diplomacy and policy, but is now turning her attention towards computer science and economics, subjects that she finds intriguing!

Nihal Ahmed

Social Entrepreneur
Nihal Ahmed is passionate about helping people find their purpose and realize them. In this journey, he’s built board games, conferences, workshops, university courses and entrepreneurship academies to help thousands of people find and do more meaningful work around the world. He built a fellowship program for social sector entrepreneurs while creating a model on sustainable villages in Punjab (including makerspaces and learning labs). Meanwhile, he loves backpacking, collecting biases, unique cultural experiences and powerful conversations which shape his personality.

Sudha Varghese

Social Worker
Ms. Sudha Varghese has devoted herself to the Musahar, the Dalit of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, one of the Scheduled Castes who are considered to be the "untouchables". She is the chief executive officer of Nari Gunjan (meaning "woman's voice"), a not-for-profit organisation that provides education, vocational training, advocacy and life skills for Dalit girls and women in Bihar. Nari Gunjan has 50 facilities with an overall enrolment of 1500 girls. Drawing inspiration from B. R. Ambedkar, a Dalit who fought against the concept of untouchability and was one of the primary drafters of the Constitution of India, in 2005 she moved to Patna, where she established a residential school named Prerna. Each of the Prerna schools is non-denominational, and includes calisthenics and art programs. In 2006, Sister Sudha was the recipient of the Padma Shri, a civilian honour awarded by the Government of India.
