In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Aggelina Kanellopoulou

Aggelina is an animal behaviorist from Athens with a BSc in Psychology and an obvious fascination for bees. Her passion for bees has been growing ever since she took beekeeping master classes. She then became convinced she had to share the bee magic with the world. A MSc on Animal Behavior (Edinburgh University) was her next step which led to research in bee labs in the USA, Spain and Greece. But to her, science was just a tool to participate in what actually creates change: education. Along with this vision, Aggelina has worked with children internationally in various settings, while also supervising numerous conservation events and research projects. In 2017, she founded “The Bee Camp”, a team with an aim to protect urban biodiversity, to promote the protection of the bees and to in- crease urban plant life.

Alexandra Soldatou

Alexandra Soldatou is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Athens Medical School. She received her M.D and Ph.D. from the University of Athens, completed residency in Pediatrics in the USA and subspecialty training at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. Alexandra joined the University of Athens in 2004. Since 2015, she has worked closely with the ELIZA team in developing and implementing child abuse and neglect preventive interventions. In 2017, she visited the Yale Child Abuse Program on a U.S. Department of State scholarship.

Athena Matisse

Athena Matisse is an architect, fashion influencer, trend forecaster and creative director in matters of fashion and design. For 20 years she collaborated with major international publications such as Vogue, Elle, Madame Figaro, Votre Beaute, L’OFFICIEL, STATUS, HOMME and Maison & Decoration. Her ability to predict future trends and fashion needs, as well as her long experience in analysing social, cultural and economic changes, have established her authority in the fashion and design industry, providing her with all the means to represent Greece for two years in “Biennale des jeunes créateurs de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée”. In May 2014 she set up PlanB Trends Events with a vision to channel her passion into fashion and design.

Christos Karasavvidis

Christos Karasavvidis was born in 1988. He is a director, writer and actor as well as a distinguised graduate of Higher School of Dramatic Art Theater of Karolos Koun, having also studied Finance in the University of Piraeus. He has participated in theatrical performances at the Athens Festival and Art Theater among others, and he has directed in the Experimental Stage of the National Theater and the EpiKolono Theater («Lolita Reversed»), on Tempus Verum-In Athens («The Four little Girls»), on Theater Thiseion and more. He has written six plays, he teaches acting in Tempus Verum and he is amongst the youngest to have directed in the National Theater, while also being the creative director of Adapt Festival.

Dimitris Kostagiolas

Dimitris Kostagiolas was born in Palaio Faliro and raised in Corfu. He studied guitar and composition in England. He is a musician, a street artist and a song writer. For the past years he has been performing his songs on Ermou street among others, inspiring passers by to actively participate in his theatrical songs. Passion, love, existence, society and the return to the present moment are all matters Dimitris’ lyrics touch on.

Dimitris Maragos

Dimitris Maragos is a graduate of the Department of Communication, Media and Culture of Panteion University and holds a Master of International and European Studies from Piraeus University while he speaks 4 foreign languages. For the last 12 years, he has been working as communications expert facilitator for organisations managing European and national programs in the fields of education, training and research. As of May 2015, he is an independent EU expert on the Team Europe network, which is coordinated by the Euro- pean Commission in Greece. Within this network, he encourages dialogue between the European institutions, young people and civil society. Since April 2017, he coordinates the “Bridges of Knowledge and Cooperation” Initiative at the National Documentation Center, thus assisting in the networking of Greeks around the world.

Filippos Paganis

Filippos Paganis is a graduant of the Department of Psychology, in Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, and a member of the scientific team of «Orlando LGBT+ Mental Health Beyond the Stigma», the first scientific organisation in Greece to specialise in the mental health of LGBTQI people. For the past seven years he has been actively involved in LGBTQI activism, as a volunteer and member of «Colour Youth - Athens LGBTQ Youth Community». From 2015 until the end of 2017 he was a member of Colour Youth’s Management Team, as Community Building Officer (2015) and as Manager (2016-2017). Since the beginning of 2018 he is working on supporting and empowering trans youth, managing the program «Transcending Youth». Furthermore, he works as an adults’ trainer on issues around sexual orientation and gender identity.

Gabriela & Aristea Telekfalvi & Bismpiki

Gabriela Telekfalvi is a Business Administration graduate of the University of Western Attica. In 2014, through her experience in organising volunteering activities across Greece, she envisioned a future in which all people would interact in a safe environment through non-formal learning. As a result, “Labyrinth of Senses” was created. Aristea Bismpiki is a student in the Department of International, European and Regional Studies in the Panteion University. In 2017 she enters “Labyrinth of Senses” team and today she is one of 10 young people who are being supported by the Vodafone Foundation in the “World of Difference” Program.

Giannis Vassilopoulos

Giannis Vassilopoulos (b.1998) is the youngest lyricist of modern Greek discography. At the age of 15 he was distinguished in the Fourth Casting of New Creators of Mikri Arktos record label and publishing company, with which he published his book “Inconceiv- ably Different” (2013), the collection of children’s songs “Who broke my train?” (2015) in collaboration with Paraskeua Karasoulos and George Andreou, and his debut album, “Third Exodus” (2017), which was musified by Spyros Paraskeuakos and performed by Dimitra Selemidou. So far he has collaborated with artists such as Dimitra Galani, Vassilis Papakonstantinou and Foivos Delivorias, while he is studying in the Department of History & Philosophy of Science in NKUA.

Spyros Maltezos

Spyros Maltezos is a director. He studied Sciences and Technologies of Visual Arts, Music, Entertainment and Fashion at the Mediological Cinema Department of Bologna University. Returning to Greece, he partly took over charge of the audiovisual content for the National Digital Arts Festival. He was the creator of Project210 videos, for the period 2017-2018, aiming to audiovisual record of Athens. Today, he is co-founder of the company MoveAlice , he directs video clips, ads, trailers and YouTube shows and videos. His most recent venture is called “Είναι Βίντεο” (=It’s a Video), a project created and evolving within social media.

Stavros Skarpathakis

Stavros Skarpathakis was born in Athens. He studied chiropractic in Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IOWA, USA, from which he graduated in 2004. As soon as he returned to Greece, he initiated his collaboration with physical rehabilitation and chiropracticcenter “Spinal Center”. Having completed his master’s degree by 2010 with specificity in veterinary chiropractic in Bournemouth, England, and having been certified by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association, he is the first and only animal chiropractor in Greece, as he treats, other than people, horses, cats and dogs. In 2015 he sets up his second office, “Chiropractor’s”, in Voula, Attica, and in 2017 he partners up with his mother and colleague Helen Karamanis- Skarpathakis to publish the first chiropractic book in Greece, titled “THE SCIENCE, ART AND PHILOSOPHY OF CHIROPRACTIC”. Many of his articles have been published in newspapers and magazines, as his work has been covered by the media. He is a member of the Hellenic Chiropractors Association, the European Chiropractor’s Union and the International Chiropractic Association.
