In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

George Fokas and the Folks

Musician

George Fokas is a musician, composer, singer and guitar player from Thessaloniki. He started playing music at a young age and he works as a professional musician for more than 10 years. Although self-taught, his musical carrer has been pretty busy and includes things suh as: - More than 2000 live performances all over Greece as a performer, frontman and guitarist. - First place in 2 panhellenic contests (2012, "Kozani new artist festival", 2011, "Jumping Fish" audience's favorite voted support artist for the Bon Jovi concert, Rockwave Festival 2011) - Co-protagonist at the Rock Opera : Alexander the Great, a production of the Northern Theater of Greece and Konstantine Athyrides. At the time, he is working as a live performer, musical arranger, session guitarist and vocalist, composer for musical and theatrical productions, animated movies, radio spots, and he is also preparing his own first personal record.

Nikos Efthymiadis

Chairman of Redestos - Efthymiadis Agrotechnology Group

Nikos Efthymiadis is Chairman of the REDESTOS - Efthymiadis Agrotechnology Group, a leading business group (established in 1935) in Greece and Southeast Europe in the fields of Agricultural technology, supplies and services. He has contributed to several European think tanks on development and cooperation in Southeast European region. Mr. Efthymiadis is also Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Thessaloniki.

Stefanos Kamperis

Director of Omnes.gr (Voluntary Association of Kilkis, Greece)

Stefanos Kamperis is the Co-Founder and President of Omnes. Omnew is a Greek non-profit, voluntary association that produces and markets a single-use wheat straw that is 100 percent natural and compostable. The move may even help lift the economy of a region struck by the financial crisis and help with the integration of 700 Syrian refugees.

Thouli Misirloglou

Art historian

Art Historian, active in the field of public & private collections, publications and art exhibitions. Since the late 1990s Thouli has collaborated with many museums and cultural institutions, both public and private, in Greece, Italy et.al. During 2005-2006 she participated in the reorganization of the Center for Contemporary Art of the State Museum of Contemporary Art. At her initiative in 2012, a Strategic Plan for the Development of Visual Arts and Applied Arts was drawn up voluntarily for the Municipality of Thessaloniki. From 2014 until 2019 (with the exception of 2017) she is General Co-ordinator and consultant for the artistic program of Dimitria Festival. She has been an executive of the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art for many years, and its Director in 2017 and 2018. She is a member of national & local art committees and associations, as well as a founding member of artistic collectives. At the moment Thouli is Head of Collections of MOMus-Museum of Contemporary Art.
