In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Maj General Rajiv Narayanan AVSM, VSM

Retired Army General

Commissioned in Dec 1978 in the Armoured Corps, Maj Gen Rajiv Narayanan, AVSM, VSM, retired after over 37 tears of illustrious service, during which he commanded an Armoured Regiment, an Armoured Brigade and a Mountain Division. Known as a cerebral General, he is considered an expert in mountain and mechanized warfare, with extensive service along both the borders. He has also had the opportunity to serve as the Defence Attaché in the Embassy of India Dushanbe, Tajikistan during the turbulent period post 9/11 from Oct 2003 to Mar 2007. As the Additional Director General Military Operations (B) at the Army HQ, his last assignment, he has been closely involved with Future Strategy, Force Structures and Force Modernisation. He is an ardent China watcher and a keen follower of International relations & amp; geo-politics for nearly three decades.

His Facebook page & YouTube channel have close to 75,000 followers, with multiple videos having almost 1 million plus organic viewership. His jokes have also been aired on 91.1 FM & 94.3 FM in the past. His video “Le Kaun Raha Hai Be” is already touched 2 million views on YouTube. His popularity has fetched him shows in Delhi NCR and he has performed solo at multiple locations across the country such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Ranchi, Chandigarh, Lucknow, etc. Till date he has done over 50 solo shows, hosted over a 100 shows & many more open mics. Manish is also a regular at Canvas Laugh Club at Mumbai, Gurgaon and Noida. He has given almost 10 TEDxTalks.
