Cynthia Barcomi

Cynthia Barcomi was born in Seattle, Washington. She received her diploma with distinction in philosophy and theater studies from Columbia University in New York City. In 1985 she moved to Berlin and began her career as professional dancer. Insa is a change maker. Kristen Berman

Kristen Berman studies how people actually act in the marketplace, as opposed to how they should or would perform if they were completely rational. Kristen co-founded Irrational Labs, a behavioral product design company, with Dan Ariely in 2013. Irrational Labs helps companies and nonprofits understand and leverage behavioral economics to increase the health, wealth and happiness of their users. She also co-founded Common Cents Lab, a Duke University initiative dedicated to improving the financial well-being for low to middle Americans. Common Cents has launched over 50 experiments with companies, touching tens of thousands of people. She was on the founding team for the behavioral economics group at Google, a group that touches over 26 teams across Google, and hosts ones of the top behavioral change conferences globally, StartupOnomics. She co-authored a series of workbooks called Hacking Human Nature for Good: A practical guide to changing behavior, with Dan Ariely. These workbooks are being used at companies like Google, Intuit, Neflix, Fidelity, Lending Club for business strategy and design work. Dr. Melanie Rieback is the CEO/Co-founder of Radically Open Security, the world’s first non-profit computer security consultancy company. Pia Klemp

Captain Pia Klemp is a vegan natur-lover, animal-rights and human-rights activist. She spent the last seven years onboard various NGO vessels and oceans, fighting against illegal whale hunt and illegal fishing. Since summer 2017 she captained Search & Rescue vessels in the Mediterranean Sea to help refugees and migrants in maritime distress on their dangerous route to safety in Europe. Since June 2018 Klemp and nine other crew members of the IUVENTA are under investigation for 'aiding and abetting illegal immigration to Italy' - because they saved the lives. The IUVENTA and its crew were involved in the rescue of over 14,000 people in distress at sea. Today they face up to 20 years in prison. What lies ahead of the crew is a marathon - not a sprint. The trial is expected to last between 3 and 4 years and the total cost of the trial will be 500,000 €. Simon loves journalism. Although he isn't a writer. He once founded a school newspaper which succeed as a business, but it failed on the editorial side. Tula Live Performance

Swedish-born and now Berlin-based Tula has made her presence known. Seemingly, out of nowhere, she appeared with a cover of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game”, which put her on the map. Her cover became somewhat of an “indie phenomenon”, receiving a great amount of attention from some of the most reputable online publications (Pigeons & Planes, Stereogum, Indie Shuffle, Clash...), and garnering diehard fans that helped launch an international run. This led to her performing at legendary venues across the world, such as the Sugar Factory in Amsterdam and Vega in Copenhagen. While it can be nerve-wracking to release an original song after such a successful cover, Tula’s next single, “River”, along with her third release, “Another Kind of Red”, both reached the #1 spot on Hype Machine, demonstrating that she is a genuine artist and songwriter. Tula’s dark pop essence is as eerie as it is inviting. Yuliana Gorkorov

Yuliana Gorkorov, M.A., is a multilingual communication designer, graduate of the Folkwang University of the Arts (2017). Her knowledge of the Hebrew, Cyrillic, Latin and Arabic alphabets drove her to create the award winning «Global Alphabet» project. Within the project she designed fonts that unite these alphabets in different ways, making them simultaneously readable to people from different cultures. She presents the project in exhibitions and lectures around the world, giving a new perspective on letters that we use every day. Yuliana worked for several years as a graduate assistant at the Institute for Lifelong Learning of the Folkwang University.
