Bella Erwin
Bella Erwin is a member of the class of 2019 at Cardinal Newman High School in Santa Rosa, California. Her passions include running, writing poetry, and traveling. Bella will be attending Chapman University next year to study psychology. She is a dedicated student and enjoys learning about English and history.
Caleb Lynch
Caleb Lynch lived in Ireland for seven years before moving to Windsor, CA. Caleb loves the sciences and wants to become a cardiologist. He plans to move to Ireland to study medicine after earning an undergraduate degree in Biology at Seattle University in Washington. . Caleb is a very social person and is very passionate about medicine. His research for his TED Talk has further inspired him to become a doctor and attempt to address problems related to healthcare.
Jordan Herrfeldt
Jordan Herrfeldt is a member of the class of 2019 at Cardinal Newman High School in Santa Rosa, CA. At Newman, he played varsity baseball and varsity football, baseball being his passion. Outside of school, he works with the North Bay Challenger Little League, a baseball league for people who are disabled. Jordan will be attending Texas Christian University, where he will be studying business. Jordan is a hard worker, and hopes to find a career path after college involving baseball. He loves his family, school, and is excited for what the future holds in college.
Keely Roy
Keely Roy is a member of the 2019 graduating class at Cardinal Newman High School in Santa Rosa, California. She is very passionate about science and soccer, and will be attending the University of San Francisco next year to play Division 1 soccer while majoring in Kinesiology. Keely has been a scholar-athlete and 1st team all-league recipient all four years on the Cardinal's varsity soccer team. During her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, baking different desserts, and trying new foods. Keely's TEDx talk on Women in STEM was an extension of her senior project: teaching an experiment based science class to underprivileged grade school students. The experience had a huge positive impact on her as a person and she hopes it will inspire other young women to seek out STEM programs.
Lauren Faust
Lauren Faust is a senior at Cardinal Newman High School. She live with her mom, dad, and dog Pearl, and has an older brother and sister who have now moved out. She plays lacrosse for Newman, and enjoys reading and dancing in her free time. She has been a nanny for a three year old girl for the past six months and looks forward to spending the summer with her. Lauren has always wanted to pursue a career in the medical field, and is excited to begin studying nursing at CSU Long Beach in the fall.
Lexi DeMarinins
Lexi DeMarinis is a senior at Cardinal Newman High School. She has played volleyball for the past eight years, but also enjoys being outdoors, exploring new areas, cooking, baking, and hanging out with her friends. Over the course of the past year, Lexi has collected unused and surplus medical supplies from Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and shipped them to remote village hospitals in Zimbabwe, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Peru, and Uganda. She will attend University of Richmond in the fall where she hopes to continue her service work. She will miss beautiful California but is excited for a new adventure on a different coast!
Lleyton Delzell
Lleyton Delzell is a senior at Cardinal Newman High School from Santa Rosa, CA. Lleyton has always loved playing sports, his two favorite are Football and Rugby. Lleyton will be attending Saint Mary’s College of California, he will be studying Communications while playing Rugby. Lleyton loves spending time at Catholic Charities, where he helps to enhance the lives of people with Alzheimer's and Dementia.
Lys Taddei
Lys Taddei was born and raised in Sonoma County, California. She enjoys hunting and fishing as well as shooting her compound bow. She is excited to be attending Colorado State University in the fall with a major in Interior Architecture and Design and a minor in Construction Management. She enjoys researching social issues and staying up to date with worldly issues in hope that one day she can make a tangible change.
Mary Almy
Mary Almy is a member of the Cardinal Newman High School class of 2019. She plays lacrosse and tennis and is a member of the Mock Trial team and chair of the Model United Nations Club. She works with the Vietnam Project, traveling to the cities of Di Linh, Da Lat and Saigon to support a leprosy community and students suffering from profound hearing impairments. The goal of her service work is to inspire universally accepting learning environments so that all children are given equal opportunities. She plans to attend the United States Naval Academy and major in the STEM field.
Melina Jones
Melina Jones is in the graduating class of 2019 at Cardinal Newman High School in Santa, Rosa CA. She has been dancing since she was eight years and enjoys to draw in her free time. Her senior service project is with Lilliput Families which ensures that children who enter the foster care system are placed with lifelong and loving families. Lilliput Families offers gift cards, community resources, and meetings with families to gather and talk about new challenges within the family. She is planning on attending the University of Oregon to major in biology and hopes to go medical school to become a hand and wrist Orthopedic Surgeon.
Ryan Duffy
Ryan Duffy is a senior at Cardinal Newman high school in Santa Rosa California. He enjoys running, cycling, and playing music. His father was a farmer who immigrated from Ireland and who taught him the value of spending time outside which heavily influenced much of his life. Ryan will be attending Oregon State University next year to study environmental engineering. He plans on using his education to come up with innovative systems to use water in agricultural more efficiently. Ryan is planning to move to Oregon or Washington after college.
