Theme: Wings of Liberty

TEDxXIE is an independently organised TED Event hosted at Xavier Institute of Engineering in the voyage to spread out the message of “IDEAs WORTH SPREADING”.

The upcoming fourth edition of TEDxXIE was curated on 23rd March, 2019 with the theme “Wings of Liberty” betokening when an individual is free to pursue his/her ambitions or ideas without any restrain, having the freedom to make choices for his/her own benefits and that of the society.

Today Nicole has taught dance to over thousands of women via dance workshops, event choreographies, online tutorials & dance fitness routines. One of India's leading Dance YouTube creators, Nicole has constantly appeared in YouTube creators events, taken workshops across the country and continues to share her dance passion by creating numerous tutorials or dance covers and teaching students to break free through dance.

Prem Krishan Jain

A Teacher, a Banker and finally a Police officer, with a short stint in Politics, life has been on the roll for Prem Krishan Jain. He has always kept his feet firmly on the ground, with an empathy towards people, both within the Force and outside. Even in the worst of the situations, a cool mind, dedication and commitment, unswerving loyalty to his "practical" and "positive" line of thinking to find solutions rather than fault finding, has been his forte and seen him through very very tense, tough and professionally challenging situations. He created, established and built, from scratch, new institutions in the Force e.g. Maharashtra State Security Force, the Maharashtra Intelligence Academy and the State Police Complaints Authority, where he is currently working as a Member.

Rajeswari Sengupta

Dr Rajeswari Sengupta is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research in Mumbai, India. In the past, she has held research positions at the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) in Chennai, the Reserve Bank of India, and the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Washington D.C. She was a member of the research secretariat for the Bankruptcy Law Reforms Committee that recommended the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 for India. Her research focuses on policy-relevant, macro-financial issues of emerging market economies in general and India in particular in the fields of international finance, open economy macroeconomics, monetary policy and financial markets and regulations. She has published extensively in reputed international journals and authored several book chapters. Dr Sengupta completed her M.A. and PhD in Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC).

Reena Ngurang

Ngurang Reena was a Joint-Sec candidate for JNUSU election 2018. She together with her sister, is the founder of Ngurang Learning Institute, an organisation working towards empowerment of tribal women in Arunachal Pradesh. She is also into spoken word poetry and often uses poetry as a tool for her activism, to raise awareness about the issues in her society and of the country.
