TEDxUNB introduces: Odyssey
We are driven to harness what we have learned throughout the journeys that we have embarked on; to lean on experience as we explore unique and powerful new ideas. We venture courageously into the excitement of the unknown, inspired by where we have come from and thrilled by where we are headed. TEDxUNB wants to create a world where an idea can be the beginning of a never-ending adventure.

Andy Buyting

Andy\s thought leadership journey started when he published his first business book in 2007, and first magazine in 2009. Since that time, he has leveraged custom magazine and online digital content strategies to establish himself as a leading authority in content marketing and brand positioning. His company Carle Publishing pushes his team to make these strategies accessible to their clients and partners, and now through his talk - available to the world.

Dr. Ben Newling

Ben Newling, Physics Professor, finds ways to get students invested in the outcomes as he plans his classes filled with demonstrations that connect physics to the real world. He wants students to recognize that the universe around us works in an amazingly wonderful way, and that making sense of large chunks of it is entirely possible by utilizing the right basic tools. His willingness to share his trials and successes to help others receive the benefit of his teaching experience has made him a leader in the UNB teaching community, as well as a previous winner of the Association of Atlantic Universities Distinguished Teaching Award in 2016 and Allan P. Stuart Teaching Excellence Award at UNB in 2015.

Jill Lamb

Jill is completing her final year of her Biology degree at UNB, and a proud Alumna of TEDxUNB having acted as Delegates Director in 2017. A passionate advocate, mentor, and global change-maker, she is thrilled to spark purposeful thought through her proposal that we always ask "Why?".

Lindsay Alive

Lindsay is a unicorn trainer, transformational leadership expert, master coach to global game-changers, speaker, author, and mama of four amazing kids. A regular Huffington Post blogger and often featured as a speaker and expert in the media, she is a certified professional co-active coach (CPCC) with CTI and RYT 500 yoga teacher certification. In the elite transformational leadership coaching space or over 16 years, Lindsay has spoken to and coached founders and influencers at global events such as Afest, the Bliss Project, and leading organizations including Accenture, Starbucks, Deloitte, P&G, Lululemon, Blackberry, and Revlon. When she is not spreading her unicorn magic around the world, Lindsay is living her dream with her family in Costa Rica where she guides her clients through transformational leadership experiences in the surf town where she lives.

Lucas Lloyd

Hailing from Rothesay New Brunswick, Lucas LLoyd is a current first year mechanical engineering student attending the University of New Brunswick. His passion for music and vibrant curiosity for the world we live in harmonize eloquently in the delivery of his TEDx talk, where he proposes a fresh take on understanding.

Luke Couture

Luke Couture is an aspiring Olympic athlete from Saint John, NB where he currently lives and trains. His late start to playing badminton, overshadowed by a lifelong focus on hockey and baseball, adds a wow factor to his exponential success. He attended school in BC, spent 2 years training in the Danish Leagues in Copenhagen, Denmark - and has carried his mantra of living authentically around the world to compete in over 25 countries.

Susannah Shepherd

Susannah Shepherd is a third year student at the University of Birmingham studying Liberal Arts and Natural Sciences with a major in History. Her exchange studies at the University of New Brunswick focus on gender and sexuality, and create the perfect opportunity to combine her studies with her passions. Her lived experiences among two vastly different student ecosystems bred her unique observation, one that challenges our ability as a society to debunk a very prominent stigma.
