For the third year in a row, Fulton-Montgomery Community College (FMCC), in conjunction with the Fulton Montgomery Young Professionals Network (FMYPN) of the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce hosts TEDxFMCC on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, doors open at 5:30 pm, speakers start at 6pm.

NEW Location! TEDxFMCC 2019 will be in The Allen House on the FMCC Campus, in Johnstown, NY.

Gretchel Hathaway, Ph.D

Dean of Diversity & Inclusion / Chief Diversity Officer at Union College, NY.
Gretchel Hathaway, Ph.D. serves as the Dean of Diversity & Inclusion / Chief Diversity Officer at Union College, NY. Reporting to the President, Dr. Hathaway is responsible for leading the college's strategic plan diversity initiatives with the board of trustees, faculty and administrators. In addition, she supervises the Office of Multicultural Affairs that focuses on designing programming and workshops for students. Dr. Hathaway teaches in the Sociology Department at Union College, NY and her research interest includes diversity and inclusivity in higher education, child physical and sexual abuse, teenage abuse, marital rape and spousal abuse. Dr. Hathaway received her Bachelors in psychology from Manhattanville College, NY, her Masters degree in psychology from Yeshiva University, NY, and her Doctorate in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh, PA.

Johanna Duncan-Poitier

Senior Vice Chancellor for Community Colleges and the Education Pipeline
Johanna Duncan-Poitier is the Senior Vice Chancellor for Community Colleges and the Education Pipeline for the State University of New York (SUNY). She provides system oversight and coordination for SUNY’s 30 community colleges that educate more than a quarter of a million students with an annual operating budget of $2.1 billion. In her dual role, she also provides leadership to strengthen STEM education, teacher preparation, and connections between SUNY’s 64 campuses and New York State’s Pre K–12 schools and business leaders to improve college readiness, completion rates, and prepare a highly-qualified workforce. Ms. Duncan-Poitier earned a B.S. from Queens College (CUNY), an M.S. degree from Bernard M. Baruch College (CUNY)

Maureen Sager

Project Director of Upstate Alliance for the Creative Economy (ACE)
Maureen Sager is Project Director of Upstate Alliance for the Creative Economy (ACE), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting and growing the Creative Industries in the 8-county Capital Region. She is also Executive Director of Spring Street Gallery, an award-winning art and performance space in Saratoga Springs, and Executive Director of the Nordlys Foundation. Before moving upstate in 2004, Maureen was Executive Producer / Site Director of NickJr.com, the world’s largest internet site for parents and preschoolers, and had marketing roles at several MTV Networks internet brands. Other entertainment industry experience includes positions at Scholastic Inc., PolyGram Filmed Entertainment, and National Film Board of Canada. She has an MFA in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, studied Marketing at Fordham University Graduate School of Business, and has a BA in English, Economics and Film from Rutgers University.
