She is host of the radio program "90 seconds of Science" and President of the SciComPT Network.
Joaquim Alves Gaspar
Researcher + Cartography historian
Retired Navy Officer, where he specialised in Navigation and Hydrography and completed a Master’s in Physical Oceanography, Joaquim Alves Gaspar decided to retire and start a new career, this time as a researcher in History of Cartography. He leads the Medea-Chart research project at Faculdade de Ciências, Universidade de Lisboa, where he develops innovative techniques for analysing old cartography letters. Joaquim intends not only to solve important historiographical questions but also to revolutionise the discipline itself, creating new lines of research and training a new generation of cartography historians.

Sustainability provocateur, designer, and sociologist, Dr. Leyla Acaroglu challenges people to think differently about how the world works. As an UNEP Champion of the Earth, she is internationally known for her creative approaches to addressing complex problems, as she activates positive social change through creative interventions and systems thinking. She is the founder of The UnSchool, an experimental knowledge lab for adults, the developer of the Disruptive Design Method, and most recently founded the CO Project Farm Brain Spa, in Tomar, Portugal.

Born premature, at 6 months and 3 weeks, Marco was faced with the biggest and hardest battle of his life: cerebral palsy. Contrary to medical expectations, Marco holds a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, and trains frequently in the gym. He is optimistic by nature, curious and argues that the balance for a good life comes from a strong spirit, capable of overcoming all limitations (physical and mental). For him, the secret of life is people, and he firmly believes that the act of unconditional love can overcome any challenge in life.

The day doctors found he had bone cancer was the day he started to rewrite his story. He did chemotherapy, autotransplant, radiotherapy and a hip removal surgery. Later on he decided that amputating his leg would bring him the quality of life that he was looking for. Today, he manages to live without pain nor any sort of limitations. He exercises daily and motivates others in similar situations. He recently published the book “Vida Acrescentada”, a biographic narrative of overcoming and hope.

Tiago (RIZUMIK) is an award-winning artist, performer, musician, dancer, actor, teacher, entertainer, photographer, writer, born in Lisbon. RIZUMIK stands for artistic expression as the closest form of connection to the source. Having worked at Cirque du Soleil and THE VOCA PEOPLE, Tiago values mainly improvisation, humor and the art of movement in his performances, using mainly beatbox, singing and percussion.

Winy Mule is a women empowerer and a law student at University of Lisbon. Angolan, she lived in Namibia and Turkey, the latter to study International Relations in Eastern Mediterranean University and, also, because she wanted to learn about middle eastern politics. After years of living in a muslim culture society, she started helping and inspiring women to be the best version of themselves. In Portugal, she is doing the same and, in the future, she plans to work with agencies with the same goals.
