Eugenia Chow

At the age of 18, Eugenia is a passionate advocate for every day activism—particularly when it comes to combating climate change. As a strong believer in social responsibility, she helped drive the vegan movement in Hong Kong by running an online guide to encourage low-impact dining. She also kick-started a local initiative, Bye Bye Plastic Bags Hong Kong, to encourage individual action and policy change. Working alongside students from across the globe, she hopes to combat plastic waste while demonstrating the capacity to which youth empowerment can lead to widespread change. The impact of these projects have led her to speak at events both locally and abroad, including the annual Conscious Festival, GGEF Youth Forum, and Q Berlin. Karl is the founder of Live Well Sell Well, a community empowerment initiative, uplifting communities through writing and wellbeing skills. He is an impassioned mental health advocate, speaking on local media platforms to eradicate stigma and has been awarded the Mind Media Award for his advocacy. Karl started his early career in journalism and digital marketing, working for South China Morning Post, Time Out, Marriott International and other clients.
Marc Allante
Artist
Hong Kong born artist Marc Allante exhibited a passion for the visual arts from an early age. Having lived in Hong Kong, Sydney and London, his work is inspired in both form and style by these western and eastern influences. Merging traditional Chinese inks with European painting techniques in a contemporary style reflects the fusion of his Chinese-French ancestry and brings it into a modern context. Self taught, Marc utilizes a variety of techniques, subject matter and themes to expand the repertoire of his artworks. As an advocate of environmental and conservation charities, his work currently focuses on wildlife, hoping to preserve and bring awareness to the inherent beauty in nature, and its increasing fragility.

Yi-Ling Liu

Yi-Ling Liu is a China-based nonfiction writer covering technology, culture & society. She has written for The Economist, The New Yorker, The Guardian & Foreign Policy on topics ranging from Chengdu rappers to rural live-streamers. As a recipient of the 2019 Matthew Power Literary Reporting Award, she is currently a visiting scholar at the New York University Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute.
Previously, she reported for the Associated Press as an Overseas Press Club Foundation Fellow, worked in creative development for Sony Pictures & studied English & Creative Writing at Yale.
