Darren Perry
Darren Parry is the Chairman of the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation. Darren serves on the Board of Directors for the American West Heritage Center, in Wellsville, Utah, the Utah State Museum board and serves on the Advisory Board of the Huntsman Cancer Institute. In 2017 he received the Esto Perpetua Award, given to the person who preserves and promotes history in the State of Idaho. He is the only person from Utah to receive that award. He attended the University of Utah and Weber State University and received his Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, with an emphasis on History. His passions in life are his family including his Tribal family. The story of the Bear River Massacre and the outcomes of that horrific event need to be remembered. He is currently working hard to raise money and awareness so an Interpretive Center can be built at the massacre site. It is important that the Shoshone perspective is heard.
