“Are you excited about tomorrow?”
In this year’s TEDxYouth@Sapporo conference, we aspire to create a place where every single person feels excitement like never before. But when we say excitement, we don’t simply mean just fun. We want to create a place where people feel excited for the new chapters of life by engaging in countless of ideas worth spreading.
Our theme is “WakuWaku”. In Japanese, “WakuWaku” is a positive word that means hope for the future, and the pure excitement of curiosity. In the two continuing “Waku” we are expressing many kinds of people connecting and creating new chemical reactions. With the initial four letters of “Waku”, we set the hopes we would like to achieve and goals we would like to realize in TEDxSapporo@Youth.
W:Wake
Make the participants “wake” up. We would like the participants to have a life changing experience.
A:Asir
In the Ainu language of the indigenous people of Hokkaido, it means “new”. The participants’ “new” discovery and creation of a “new” U-18 is what we hope to achieve.
K:Knowledge
We would like for the participants to acquire new knowledge from the speakers.
U:Unlimited
The recognition of U-18’s “unlimited” possibilities is what we hope to gain.pe to gain.
