Daniel Birnbaum
In his remarkable story, Daniel Birnbaum shares how he
discovered peace “by mistake” and suggests a simple formula for “Peace Economy” whereby every human being and every organization can build bridges and make peace. This emotional
and entertaining journey of creating an “Island of Peace” at
SodaStream where enemies became friends, will inspire you to
seek your way to build bridges and embrace a greater cause in
your own life. At TEDxTelAviv, Daniel talks about the personal
wake-up call he had while working at Nike -- a moment that
changed how he saw his purpose in life -- and his search to
become the United Nations.
About the Speaker
Daniel Birnbaum was appointed CEO of SodaStream in 2007,
when it was acquired on the verge of bankruptcy by a private
equity firm for just $6 million. Under his leadership, Daniel
grew SodaStream to sales of nearly $1 billion, built it to become
the largest sparkling water brand in the world, and ultimately
sold the company to PepsiCo for $3.2 billion, a transaction
broadly recognized as phenomenal. In parallel to his
remarkable business success, Daniel is recognized as a social
activist in the environmental sphere as well as advocating for
diversity and coexistence, LGBT rights and is a spokesperson for
the State of Israel. He has proven that corporate responsibility
is good for business and believes that every person and every organization needs a greater cause that makes the world a better place because in 2019, it is no longer enough to jusenjoy life and build shareholder value.

Shulamit Levenberg
In this presentation, we will embark on an enthralling trip to the future. Into medicine's future.
Professor Shulamit Levenberg, the Dean of the Technion’s Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, heads a lab which prints live 3D tissues. Her bustling team engineers tissues with vital blood vessels that can then become incorporated into a living organ within the body.
This revolutionary strategy lays down the stepping stones toward a future which will enable creation of 'replacement parts' for the human body.
Just imagine what lab-grown tissues will offer patients with a dysfunctional heart or injured spinal cord.
Well, it is no longer imaginary.
