In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Al Kitenge

Al Kitenge is a strategist and CEO of Innovation Task Force, which provides strategic analysis, planning and coaching for top decision makers. Al has holds a qualification in Public Policy & has a professional background in public policy and the private sector. He has embarked on international career with Unilever and is currently on the final stages of his book based on corruption within the continent. Al is in the process of handing over his companies in order to focus more of his time & efforts towards the creation of local structures within D.R.C capable of providing and handling emergency responses to local disasters & crises.

Alain Yav

Alain Yav is a Congolese entrepreneur, brand builder and producer. He is CEO of the renowned Media & Advertising agency of Pygma Communications in Kinshasa, a company that he launched to positively inspire African youth with positive and innovative entertainment. Pygma’s activities range and togeth from Advertising, PR, Digital and and they have produced such as Miss Vodacom Miss RD Congo and Vodacom’s Best of the Best, which have had nationwide success. Outside of this, Alain has held senior positions in South Africa with Grey Advertising, Procter and Gamble (P&G) and Cadbury before returning to DRC to run Pygma Communication in January 2005.

Athoms Mbuma

Athoms Mbuma is best known in his home city , Kinshasa, as a Pastor and a reputable gospel singer. He has realised numerous gospel songs alongside his wife Nadege. Outside of this, he has built an impressive profile. He is the CEO of The Best Group, where he trains individuals on public speaking and management skills. Consequently, he is also a John C Maxwell accredited public speaking, management & leadership coach extraordinaire. He has also ventured out of this and has spoken at events as a keynote speaker.

Derrick Musangu

Derrick Musangu is a 17-year-old Derrick at Jewels International School in Kinshasa, D.R.C. He is a leader in his academic community and presides the Public Speaking club. Derrick is a sports enthusiast specifically a football fanatic. Elsewhere, Derrick takes great passion in helping and positively impacting the lives of others.

Edwige Takassi

Edwige Takassi is the Deputy Director-General of Equity Bank in Kinshasa, D.R.C. She completed her masters degree in Management at the elite business school École Supérieure de Commerce de Roeun. Today, Edwige specialises in the finance sector and has , to date, embarked on an impressive international career having worked in Ghana, Luxembourg, Germany and Paris. Outside of this Edwige coaches young professionals and young entrepreneurs mainly in financial education and the strengthening of management skills. Additionally presides over the board of the Togolese fret and logistics company TAAL S.A.

Eunice Dalo

Eunice Dalo describes herself as ‘a creative soul’. An Interior Designer by profession, Eunice has always had a strong passion for the Arts and its power to transform. In 2014 she founded the Arts & Event Company AARA with the mission of revolutionising arts locally & using Arts & Theatre a means of impacting lives & changing local perspectives. As part of this initiative, Eunice has written 4 musicals to date and is on the verge of having her first urban fiction novel published. Having accomplished so much at such a young age the future for Eunice is bright and she will continue to use Arts to Theatre to impact society in the future.

Justine Kankote

16 year old Justine Kankote, is a student at Marif International School in Kinshasa, D.R.C. As a TEDx speaker By taking to the stage she would like to show her peers and all young individuals that anything is possible no matter who you are and that great things can be accomplished b.

Nicole Sulu

Après des études d'orthophoniste et de gestion d'entreprises à Bxls, elle fait plus de 10 ans de gestion hospitalière et 6 ans comme directrice générale du Sultani Hôtel à Kinshasa. Elle siège dans différents conseils d'administration. Elle est la fondatrice du réseau Makutano qui est le premier club d’affaires et think thank congolais indépendant regroupant aujourd’hui près de 500 CEO’s Congolais. Elle couvre l' Afrique Centrale pour le ‘Women In Business’ qui est une déclinaison du Africa CEO Forum du groupe, initiative de Jeune Afrique.

Sifa Muderhwa

Complexes regarding race and complexion are still very present in today's Congolese society. From a very young age, particularly, in her own native country, Sifa was made to feel like she didn't belong. Her talk covers race & discrimination. She de-constructs Congolese stereotypes and discuses her experience growing up black in an international school in Kinshasa and being viewed as the inferior race.
