All The Queen's Men

All the Queen’s Men is an all-male acapella group that was formed in 2010 and can be simply summed up in one word; Brotherhood. Since their inception, they have held true to who they are. They pride themselves on being a good, fun-loving group of guys who come together twice a week because of their passion for singing. They’ve performed in plenty of places around the Kingston community over the years, highlighted by their Frosh Concert performance in 2016 with The Strumbellas. Their goal as a group is to show how fun music and acapella can be. They believe if you’re having a good time, then they have done their job

Cassie Dionne

Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

Cassie is a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist at Taylored Training Physiotherapy where her mission is to change the conversations we have around pelvic and sexual health. Cassie works with a wide range of clients including high level athletes, pre-and post-natal clients, and women of all ages and in all stages of life to help them feel and move their absolute best. Cassie graduated from the Queen’s School of Rehabilitation in 2011 and has worked in the Kingston community since this time. In addition to her clinical work Cassie is working with researchers in the Queen’s Department of Psychology to further examine the importance of pelvic health physiotherapy as first line treatment for pelvic floor dysfunctions.

Cathy Cleary

International Impact Facilitator

Cathy Cleary has been working in the area of international development for the past ten years and in the areas of community health and social justice for over twenty-five years. A community developer at heart, particularly around issues of poverty and injustice, she works with organizations to support and fund projects in Tanzania and Democratic Republic of Congo. She is founder of the Tchukudu Women’s Training Centre and co-founder of BridgingPost.com a site that is bringing people together to share information, resources and passion on topics related to health, education and entrepreneurship. Cathy works from a core belief that people and communities know best what they need. Cathy has a master’s degree from Queen’s University in Public Administration focussed on Social and Health Policy. She is the mother of two engaging young men and one foster daughter in Tanzania. She lives in Kingston with her entrepreneurial husband Randy, and travels regularly to Tanzania and DRCongo.

Colin Farrelly

Colin Farrelly is Professor and Queen’s National Scholar in the Department of Political Studies at Queen’s University. He has also held academic appointments at UCLA, Oxford University, Waterloo University, Manchester University, Birmingham University and the University of Waterloo. In the fall of 2018 Colin was the Fulbright Visiting Research Chair in the Social Sciences at the University of Hawaii. Colin is the author and editor of 6 books and approximately 50 journal articles in political science, philosophy, law, science and medicine. Most of his research focuses on the ethical and social implications of the genetic revolution (especially altering human aging). His recent books include Biologically Modified Justice (Cambridge University Press, 2016) and Genetic Ethics: An Introduction (Polity Books in 2018). Colin is also involved in volunteer initiatives to teach political philosophy and ethics to both inmates and children.

Dr. Lindsay Morcom

Interdisciplinary Research & Assistant Professor of Aboriginal Education at Queen's Univeristy

Dr. Lindsay Morcom (Algonquin Métis, Bear Clan) is an interdisciplinary researcher with experience in education, Aboriginal languages, language revitalization, and linguistics. She earned her Master’s degree in Linguistics at First Nations University through the University of Regina in 2006. She then completed her doctorate in General Linguistics and Comparative Philology as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University in 2010. She now works as an assistant professor and coordinator of the Aboriginal Teacher Education Program at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Erez Zobary

Erez Zobary is an R&B artist originally from Toronto, who has been actively involved in the Kingston music community since arriving as an undergraduate in 2014. Her music draws on both classic and contemporary R&B sounds. She has released 3 EP's, including her most recent, "Love, and Lots of Sleep", a collection of songs inspired by her university experience. Erez is performing in support of her new album due for release in the coming months. She is joined by her band The Pearlz, featuring Nick Ashmore, Adam Eisen and David Lipson. Erez was honoured to work with Steven Page of the Barenaked Ladies as one of 6 songwriters from across Canada chosen for the RBC Master in Residence program.

Over the past 20 years, Gary has played a leadership role in the high-tech industry founding, investing and managing a number of companies in the health, marketing, social media, automotive and financial sectors. He is a six-time recipient of the Deloitte Fast 50 Award and was recognized as the ""2013 Mobile Commerce Evangelist of the Year"" and ""2014 US Retail Innovator of the Year."" Gary is a Simon & Schuster NYC author with titles that include ""THE IMPULSE ECONOMY,"" ""FAST SHOPPER, SLOW STORE"" and is presently writing a book on the AI called ""IF THINGS COULD SPEAK."" He is president of the Canadian Lenders Association and the Global Director of the Location Based Marketing Association. John Gallagher

Intelligence Operator with the Canadian Armed Forces

Warrant Officer John Gallagher is an Intelligence Operator and has served with the Canadian Armed Forces for 24 years. Following his experiences being deployed to Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Syria as an Infanteer and Intelligence analyst, he developed a passion for engaging refugee youth within Canada. As a result, he created “The Promise” a series of speeches purposed for refugee youth. As of 2018, Warrant Officer John Gallagher has engaged over 30,000 elementary and high school students in Canada.

Priyanka Gogna

Cancer Epidemiologist

Priyanka Gogna received her MSc. in Epidemiology in 2018, and is currently a PhD candidate in Epidemiology at Queen’s University under the supervision of Dr. Will King. Priyanka is a cancer epidemiology researcher, and studies the impact of common environmental risk factors on cancer burden at the population level. She is passionate about knowledge translation and the importance of disseminating cancer prevention research to the general public. She believes science is not finished until it is communicated, and tries to embody this in her everyday research. Aside from her academic work, she is involved in mentorship and teaching outreach programs in the Kingston community. Priyanka was the 2018 winner of the Queen’s Three Minute Thesis competition for her talk translating her molecular cancer thesis topic for the general public.

Queen's Competitive Dance Team

"Broken Hearts” is choreographed by Vanessa Kiriakou and is performed alongside Sabrina Dallan, Briana Golic, Brynn Levitt, Krista Manteiga, and Sydney Melrose. It is a contemporary-jazz piece showcasing a group of strong women who are resilient after heartbreak and find comfort in each other in order to move forward. It explores the dynamics of movement and musicality while portraying a vulnerable human emotion. This routine is part of the 2018-2019 repertoire of the Queen’s Competitive Dance Team (QCDT). The QCDT is a group of 29 advanced dancers in full time study at Queen’s University. Rehearsing throughout the year, QCDT prepares and rehearses routines to compete against teams from other universities. The QCDT also performs at numerous events on Queen’s campus including varsity sports games, the Queen’s Dance Battle hosted by the Queen’s Dance District, and the Winter Adaptive Games hosted by the Kinesiology department. The team also performs at Queen’s Dancerama’s annual recital, raising money for Cystic Fibrosis.

Shari Hughson

Director of the Master of Management Innovation & Entrepreneurship Program at the Smith School of Business

Shari Hughson has led a unique and unconventional life. She has been an entrepreneur, intrapreneur, social innovator and extreme adventurer. She started her first business at the age of 25 and won CIBC Entrepreneur of the Year before the age of 30. Shari has been a founding member in four more companies, two great learning opportunities (aka failures) and two ongoing scaling tech and data driven health businesses. Shari created a social innovation program in mental well-being that won a National Honour from the First Nations Health Authority of Canada. She is currently the Director of the Master of Management Innovation & Entrepreneurship program at the Smith School of Business, Queen’s University.

Currently, she is focused on solving cannabis industry challenges with technology-driven solutions. Prior to this role, she spent years working operations at food tech startups, running her own music magazine and dabbling in and out of photojournalism.

Tracy Schmitt, also known as Unstoppable Tracy, is a highly acclaimed, international motivational speaker, author, and athlete. Tracy was born a 4-way amputee, yet she has never let this become a limitation in her life.
