Aneesh has watched plenty of TED talks over the past few years and wants to embrace the life skill of giving a speech.

Aryan was among the first intake of K1 students in 2008, and is currently a Grade 9 student at UWCSEA East. He will be speaking on ‘How You Can Question to Transform Everything’. He believes in community building and making a difference at the moment. He practices mindfulness and meditation whilst bringing about enjoyable experiences to people around him. When he is not playing tennis and football, he thinks about creative solutions towards problems. Aryan is passionate about writing, enterprise, food technology and history.
Hemal Arora

Hemal will be speaking on climate change and the inadequacy of current action against it. He is passionate about climate change and has a curiosity for physics. He spends his free time exploring with electronic circuits and reading. He signed up to speak at TEDxYouth UWCSEA East because he is continuously searching for opportunities to voice out his thoughts and ideas on the issue of climate change. He is an advocate of youth activism and believes young people can and must take action on this issue, and make it a personal battle, not simply one that is left to governments to solve. Hemal leads ‘The Solar for East Project’ at school, and gives educational presentations on the issue of climate change and his project.

Ian is a Grade 10 student at UWCSEA East. His love for percussion began in grade 5, whilst playing the African ensemble marimbas. He then branched out to orchestral percussion where he performed with the Singapore Wind Symphony Percussion Ensemble. Ian truly enjoys all aspect of percussion and sincerely hopes that the audience enjoys his performance.

Joan has worked in education as a teacher and college counsellor for the past 20 years. She has expertise in working with high-need international students seeking financial aid to US universities and colleges. She believes that when something resonates with us personally, we are in a great position to move the needle — socially, politically, and culturally.

“Full-time student. Part-time entrepreneur and environmental advocate. I want to change the world one day, but for now, I will focus on my IB score.” Ronit believes that politics is often fairly personal. He wants to walk a mile in different people’s shoes and understand how they see politics and convey some of the things he has learned.

Shawronna is a Grade 11 Student at UWCSEA East who has been playing percussion for three years now. She enjoys playing in the school percussion ensemble and the Singapore Youth Percussion Ensemble.

Through carefully crafted questions, SG Narratives promotes the importance of honest conversations between any two persons in the spirit of being present and actively listening to each other no matter how difficult, be it a couple, family members or colleagues.
Varsha Krishnamoorthy

Varsha Krishnamoorthy is a grade 12 student at UWCSEA East. She enjoys singing, songwriting, and striving for social change. She created a platform for herself, as artist ‘Varsha’ on Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, and more, to express her perspective and speak on important issues through the medium of music. Using a blend of traditional instruments and the software instruments of Logic Pro, Varsha’s work balances a unique mix of important social discussions and lighter content, as has learned to express herself not only as an artist but as a change-maker through her platform.
