Camila Lyons
Camila is a singer, currently studying interior design at Lethbridge College. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Camila grew up with musical influences starting at home and draws on her Hispanic roots for her compositions and lyrics. Camila has honed her skills through formal training as well as engaging in informal training and singing opportunities. For Camila, lagom represents a societal irony, in that the less we have, the fuller we can live and feel. Today, Camila will be presenting with David Alvarez and Adam Muñoz.
Craig Elias
Craig is the Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Bow Valley College. He was recently awarded a global award of excellence for student entrepreneurship activities, in Australia. Craig is always striving to maintain lagom in his work by balancing short-term needs and a long-term goals. For Craig, balance is about helping students while still finding time to network with existing industry experts, to assist in fostering an even more successful cohort of student entrepreneurs.
Eugene Saldanha
Eugene has been teaching humanities for over twenty years and feels there is no better vocation in the world. He holds degrees in Education and English, a Diploma in Financial Planning, and a Creative Writing Certificate. Eugene believes strongly in community service, and in 2005, the Mustard Seed Street Ministry nominated him for Volunteer Calgary’s prestigious Volunteer of the Year Award. Eugene loves literature and the outdoors! These two favourite pastimes give him a sense of lagom.
Nadiya Manji
Nadiya is an international speaker, author and Quantum Executive Coach. She is also certified in Neurolinguistic Programming, a certified hypnotherapist, and a Corporate Quantum Change Process Practitioner. Her extensive background in physiology and biochemistry makes her a leading authority in human communication, influence, and persuasion at the quantum level.
Tamania Jaffri
Tamania blogs about her multicultural Canadian-Pakistani family on her internationally recognized blog, UrduMom.com. Tamania shares resources to teach Urdu to children, while also addressing parenting, recipes, travel, and lifestyle. Tamania's blog has been featured on BBC (Urdu), BBC (Hindi), OMNI TV (Canada), CTV News (Alberta Primetime), Metro News (Calgary) and other media outlets. For Tamania, lagom is finding balance in the diversity that exists within ourselves and communities.
Tim Fox
Tim is the Director of Indigenous Relations with the Calgary Foundation and a board member with The Circle on Philanthropy and Aboriginal Peoples in Canada. Tim has been actively engaged in local and national initiatives that endeavour to mobilize the work of reconciliation, including the creation of a reconciliation framework with the 4R’s Youth Movement. Tim fosters his identity and holds Indigenous paradigms and ways of knowing in high regard where balance is a key part to living lagom.
