In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Anush Babajanyan

Photographer

Armenian photographer Anush Babajanyan is a member of the VII Photo Agency, focusing her work on social narratives related to women, issues of minorities, and the aftermath of the conflict in Nagorno Karabakh, among others. In 2016, she co-founded the #BridgingStories project that brought together young photographers from Turkey and Armenia, in an effort to bridge peace between the two nations. Anush is currently hand-making her book, The House of Culture, about the memory of Soviet Armenian culture houses. Anush Babajanyan’s photography has been published in The New York Times, Washington Post, National Geographic, Foreign Policy Magazine, and various other international publications.

Davit Petrosyan

Activist

Davit has graduated from Yerevan State University, faculty of political science. He is the co-founder of “For the Sake of Science Development” movement and has been actively participating in various movements that raise students’ voice. In February, 2018 Davit started “Restart” project together with other students at YSU with the purpose of solving vital issues of the university. The most influential step of his activism marked with becoming the leader of students’ movement during the protest against previous prime minister of Armenia.

FairWind Band

Musical Band

FairWind was founded in August of 2007. The band plays different kinds of music ranging from various types of Rock to Reaggae and Ska. Having dozens of own songs in Armenian, during their famous energetic concerts the band usually performs covers of worldwide famous bands. FairWind is having concerts not only in Yerevan, but they always try to expand and go to the regions of Armenia and Artsakh to perform for people who is not able to attend concerts in the capital.

Hranush Kharatyan

Cultural Anthropologist

Hranush Kharatyan is a prominent Cultural Anthropologist and public figure from Armenia. In 2004-2008 Kharatyan headed the Department of National Minorities and Religious Affairs of the Armenian Government, which she resigned in March 2008, demonstrating her disagreement with the events of March 1, 2008. Since 2008, she heads Applies Anthropology Research Group at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. Kharatyan has lectured in various universities in Armenia and abroad. She is the author over 90 scholarly publications, including over 10 monographs.

The band formed in 2016. band members are Arevik and Astghik, who are sisters and who sing together since childhood. They perform Armenian folk music.

Lena Nazaryan

Lena Nazaryan is a member of RA National Assembly, a member of the revolutionary "Way Out" faction, Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-government, Agriculture and Environment. She is interested in self-education, voicing one's opinion, not holding anything back, being one's true and unapologetic self and making the country better place for each and every citizen. Her other interests include topics of feminism, social-political-cultural discourse, civil activism, contemporary art and philosophy.

Maria Titizian

Editor-in-Chief

Maria Titizian is the Editor-in-Chief of EVN Report, a digital online news magazine based in Yerevan. She also lectures at the American University of Armenia in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences where she is a full-time faculty member. For many years she wrote for several Diaspora publications. Maria has also worked in the private, as well as the NGO sector in Armenia. She moved to Armenia in 2001 with her family from Canada. She is married, has two children and two grandchildren.
