In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ahmad Abo Al- Roz

Animator, Illustrator

Started drawing and doodling since a very young age, he was fascinated by cartoons and how they were made. While growing up he was also interested in yet another but very similar field which was Video Games, which helped insetting his mind to be a concept artist for gaming companies.Ahmad was self-taught in Digital Art and has always preferred it, bu the never left his house without his pencils and sketchbooks. Studied Visual Arts at the University of Jordan, starting from his second year of college, he worked as an animator for seven years until last year when he had a full time job in thegaming industry by working at Babil Games LLC. which he considers the first step in pursuing his dreams.

Dina Fawakhiri

Creative director, Illustrator, Artist

Born and raised in the UAE, Dina Fawakhiri returned to her native Amman to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design in 1997, and began working in advertising soon after. 15 years later, Dina left the industry as Creative Director to one of Jordan’s most prominent agencies, with numerous awards to her name to pursue a freelance career as an Illustrator. As a young artist, Dina’s favourite medium was pencil on paper, preferring black and white to colour, with smooth rounded lines and perfect forms. But the fast-paced, commercially-driven advertising world eventually influenced her work as an artist. Inspired by the ease and speed of digital illustration, Dina’s lines got simpler, cleaner, bolder and faster. She began experimenting with colour and found herself drawn to digital art as a new medium that lent itself to surrealist conceptual exploration.

Khaldoun Hijazin

Artist, Lecturer

Mr.hijazin is an artist and a lecturer. Studied painting in the University of Jordan, then got his degree of MFA from School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University (Boston MA, USA). He participated in 14 group exhibitions, and currently working with different galleries in Amman. Mr.hijazin is a dedicated artist and a hard worker, He is an influence and a motivation to his students.

Riyad Musa

Former Senior Advisor for the D.G of WHO on Health, Human Environment Protection, and Sustainable Development.

Obtained a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from USA, joined the Royal Scientific Society in Jordan to oversee industrial and hazardous waste treatment and management, and provided numerous consultancies in environmental management and planning to the gulf of Aqaba Authority, ministry of Tourism, World Bank, GIZ, and JICA. Selected for key positions in the UN and elsewhere. Served as UN Resident Coordinator/UNDP Resident Representative, Secretary General Representative in KSA. Served as head of mission and representative of the WHO in Afghanistan. Lead the Agenda-21-Jordan; a 4-year program to put the country on a path of sustainable development in the 21 century.

Shireen Yaish

Art psychotherapist

Shireen Yaish is founder of Kaynouna Art Therapy Center - the first of its kind in the Arab world. She is the spirit behind initiatives such as ‘SELFIEKUNA- Empowering Women Through Art’, ‘Davinic’s Children- Art Therapy with Orphans of Jordan’, and ‘Arting Out- Art Therapy with Refugee Children’- which provide trauma informed art psychotherapy sessions and training to thousands of Syrian, Iraqi, Palestinian, Jordanian,Yemini and Arab women and children. Shireen Yaish was trained and qualified as an Art Psychotherapist at Goldsmiths College, University of London. She is a member of the British Association of Art Therapists and Canadian Art Therapy Association.

Founder at Integrated leadership Group which is a venture capital platform focused on business services, education and media industries in the Middle East. He has awarded the best value-added management consultancy team leader title from Capital Finance International -London CFI.co. He is the co-founder and Investor for few startups and SMEs. He is the managing partner at AdamTech Accelerator with a mission to promote the establishment of technology startups by providing the financing and technical support required to attain stability, generate revenue and scale up the business. He is the Founder of IKB entrepreneurship award and Academy that serve thousands of business students in different countries in the region.

Yousef Ghaith

Architect, Musician

Yousef Ghaith, is an architect and a Musician. He plays oud and guitar. The main influence that made him study architecture was his love for music. Both of architecture and music gave him the chance to express himself and his feelings. Yousef uses music to tell his stories, and the different things he experiences in his life, he expresses love, loss, being left behind, and missing.
