💡TEdxKoreaUniversity's 10th event, SPOTLIGHT💡

The world is occasionally compared to a stage. Spotlights shed light only on a certain area of the stage called "the world." In other words, if we spotlight "different angles", previously unnoticed scenes can be exposed! TEDxKoreaUniversity has cast five speakers from different fields, who will suggest the "different angles" to appreciate "the world." They are:

Dong Seon Jang

Science Communicator

Dr. Dong-Seong Chang’s main issues’ are Human perception especially cognition and action. Dr. Dong-Seong Chang brings a new insight to society through scientific perspective about human beings. He is a remarkable ‘Science Communicator’ who attracts attention on a world level, He won the 2014 Science Slam and also participated as a representation of German at the Final 2015 Famelab Internation.

Jae Ho Jo

CEO of Social Venture (Benefit)

CEO of Social Venture, Jae Ho Jo is focusing on the solutions of social issues rather than the problems and causes. He tries to spread the area of social renovation by ‘Benefit Magazine’ and ‘Benefit Toolkit’. These help people to think more about the specific solutions of the social problems. Therefore, Jae Ho Jo is providing the valuable resources and examples of the solutions that help everyone to become a social problem solver.

Mo Rae Shin

Illustrator

What is the first thing that comes up to your mind when you see the color pink or a bright light? Most of you will think pink as a warm and bright color. But there is an unique painter who connects the color pink and bright light to loneliness. Morae Shin is an illustrator who expresses her ideas and passion through pictures in her own ways. She would like to explain why she expresses certain colors the way she does.

Seung Il Jeong

Economist

What was the reason behind the recent boom of “bitcoin” among the young generation in Korea? Economist Jung Seung Il focuses on the imminent economic problems of the Korean economy, such as youth unemployment and the slowing growth rate. He articulates that we should endeavor to tackle these problems from a fundamental level, and suggests some ways we could do so. Economist Jung will walk you through the past, our present, and the future vision of Korean economy.

Yeon Ho Oh

CEO of OhmyNews

How can we live a better life? What are the secrets to happiness? Before asking these questions, are you happy now? Oh Yeon Ho, a journalist, tried to find the secrets from Denmark, the first country in the happiness index. Finally, he found the key to be happy. He says “Love if you want to be happy. Our happiness begins when we live the way we are.” Mr. Oh will help us to be happy.
