Theme: Deconstruction

With the rise of technology and globalization, the speed of the modern age is stronger than ever. We explore, absorb and create and build to progress. Without a doubt, we live in an era of perpetual change that forces us to stop and think about the structures, institutions and processes by which we are surrounded. (De)constructing becomes a question not only of rebellion but of survival, and now, we need it to evolve. This year we will explore bold new ideas which will help us get a better grasp of the present that we live in, and the future that awaits us.

This year’s TEDxSciencesPo 2018 will seek to bring together the challengers; those with innovative ideas that deconstruct and challenge the past in seeking a better future. The conference seeks to cross sectors of industry and research, human experience and technological innovation to present the challenging ideas that will bring us into the future we not only want, but need.

Anne-Charlotte Vuccino

A strategic consultant and a graduate of HEC, Anne-Charlotte Vuccino discovered yoga ten years ago after a grave motor accident that left her handicapped. Bit by bit she recovered, thanks to this ancestrale practice, on 2015, she changed her career to become an entrepreneur. Convinced that yoga had changed her life, she developed a new method to diffuse her knowledge for those in the most need, creating YOGIST - the first “corporate yoga” startup to work against corporate stress and work related pain.

Céline Bardet

Céline Bardet is an international lawyer and criminal investigator specialized in war crimes, international crimes, justice and security issues. Currently, Céline works as an independant expert consultant for the United Nations, the European Union and other international institutions such as Interpol. She has a post graduate degree in International Public Law and International Criminal Law and also holds a diploma of International Criminal Investigation. She is a published author. In 2014, stroke by the massive use of sexual violence in war and fragile environment and the silence around it, she decided to found an NGO called “We are NOT Weapons of War” (WWoW) which aims to make rape as a weapon of war a global public issue by leading awareness campaigns and educating people about this organized process, and its consequences. WWoW also developed a tech tool The Back Up, an encrypted system of alert for survivors and support for investigator and activists enabling them to transfer in a secured manner, elements of information and pieces of evidence. The Back Up enable also survivors to get access to medical psycho social and legal services, where they are. The tool is using IA and the blockchain to ensure authentification of documents and legal cases. Celine Bardet is now creating a think and Do Tank agency called #DisruptJustice focused on international justice and security issues, and how innovation and technology may become the path to make justice and security sector more effective and fair to people it supposed to serve.

Charles Merlin

Education, travail, économie, environnement : dans son intervention, Charles Merlin expose les politiques publiques les plus favorables à une "expérience citoyen" de haute qualité. Avec ce TEDx, il lance un appel au gouvernement français pour qu'il intègre les standards de bien-être et de qualité de vie dans ses décisions.

Gael Musquet

Gaël Musquet is an opensource and opendata hacktivist. He's spokesman of OpenStreetMap France and founder of the Crisis management NGO: HAND - Hackers Against Natural Disasters- He's gathering technical volunteers serving natural disasters prevention and supporting technical exchanges between institutions, firms, and citizens communities. As a bad weather observer, maps and hamradio amateur he's driving technical experiments dedicated to civil security and collective intelligence.

Guillaume Capelle

Entrepreneur, published author, co-founder and international director of SINGA, Guillaume Capelle is also a global-trotter and activist willing to make a social impact. After obtaining International Relations diploma in Paris he left to Australia where he joined Amnesty International team to help migrants coming to the country. Later after his return to France Guillaume Capelle established CapEthic, a communication consultancy firm, and wrote two books “ Le cheveu sur la soupe” and “Tu laisseras ta trace dans l’espace”. Now his time is devoted to his non- profit organization SINGA which aims to create and encourage dialogue between refugees and host countries.

Hélène Périvier

Hélène Périvier est économiste, à l’OFCE, Sciences Po. Elle dirige le programme PRESAGE, le Programme de Recherche et d’Enseignement des SAvoirs sur le GEnre et coordonne le projet européen EGERA, Effective Gender Equality in Research and the Academia, cofinancé par la Commission européenne. Ses domaines de recherche concernent les politiques sociales, familiales et fiscales ; les inégalités entre les sexes sur le marché du travail dans une perspective de comparaisons internationales. Elle a notamment codirigé le numéro spécial de la Revue de l’OFCE, paru en avril 2014, European labour markets in times of crisis. A gender perspective, ainsi que l’ouvrage collectif, paru en 2011, Les discriminations entre les femmes et les hommes, (Presses de Sciences Po). Elle a également coécrit en 2007 Le deuxième âge de l’émancipation. La société, les femmes et l’emploi (La République des idées, Le Seuil), ainsi que l’ouvrage paru en 2014 Refonder le système de protection sociale. Vers une nouvelle génération de droits sociaux (Presses de Sciences Po).

Jean François Riffaud

Jean-François Riffaud est expert de la communication et du marketing d'intérêt général et non profit en France à l'international. Il a notamment dirigé la communication et les affaires internationales de l'Etablissement Français du sang, ainsi que la communication et le développement de la Croix Rouge française pendant 9 ans. Il a accompagné depuis plusieurs années acteurs privés, publics et de l'ESS, du secteur social, de l'éducation et de l'humanitaire dans leurs stratégies de développement, de communication et d'innovation. Il est aujourd'hui Directeur du développement et de la communication d'Action contre la Faim. Par ailleurs, JF Riffaud a créé et dirige le cours "Communication et marketing non profit" en Master II à Sciences Po Paris. Il est titulaire d'un DEA de droit et d'économie internationale à Paris V.

Lucie de Closets

Lucie was born and raised in Paris. After 2 years in Sciences Po Paris, she studied literature in Montreal for a year and came back to France to complete a masters degree in communications.

Samir Abdelkrim

Entrepreneur, consultant and Tech journalist, Samir Abdelkrim is the founder of StartupBRICS.com, the leading French-Speaking blog about startups and innovation in emerging markets. In 2014, Samir bootstrapped and launched an initiative named #TECHAfrique, a 1 year-long exploration of 20+ Startup ecosystems in Africa with hundreds of amazing startups met, from Senegal to Kenya, from Togo to Botswana or Ghana. Samir spends the most of his time spotting new Tech Entrepreneurs in Africa and he shares their stories in prestigious medias such as Le Monde, The BBC, France Culture, Les Echos or The Huffington Post. He wrote a book about his Africa journey, Startup Lions, to be released in English in september 2018.

Yorgo Tloupas

Yorgo Tloupas, award-winning designer, started his career with the sale of his final art school diploma in 1996 : a logo and a range of boards for Rossignol, his snowboard sponsor at the time. Since then he has been working both in the field of logo design and as a renowned art director for a large number of magazines internationally. He has redesigned GQ, Libération Next, Beaux Arts and many other publications, and today he is the art director of Vanity Fair France. With his studio, Yorgo&Co, he works for clients such as Omega, Louis Vuitton, Ricard, Cartier, Hennessy, Lacoste, Galeries Lafayette, as well as art foundations, museums and galleries. He teaches at Penninghen and SciencesPo in Paris, at ECAL in Lausanne, and has given speeches and hosted workshops in schools and events worldwide. His work, from Crash Magazine to Black Crows skis, is part of the permanent design collection of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
