Theme: Deviate

‘Deviate’ emphasizes on highlighting unconventional ideas and perspectives through providing passionate individuals with a platform to voice issues which are highly relevant to our current society. ‘Deviate’ asks us to reconsider existing opinions and discover unfamiliar ideas in order for us to recognize the bigger picture of the intertwining issues of our world.

Bhumikorn (Bhu) Kongtaveelert

Student

A fifteen year-old art student who grew up journeying through art studios, Bhu has a huge passion for the visual arts. Having extensively studied art history, Bhu has an appreciation for many concepts of art, specifically art modern art, which he believes has played a significant role in shaping his artistic philosophy. As a speaker, Bhu wishes to share his perspective and appreciation for modern and abstract art.

Duke is an alumnus of Shrewsbury International School Class of 2011 who went on to study at University College London, UK for his Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Master's degree in Cancer Research. During his time in the UK, he had worked closely with the Thai community, having re-established the UCL Thai Society, and later led the UK Thai Student Association under Royal Patronage. Duke later rejoined his family business in textile manufacturing and is spearheading in business development for Adidas Group.

Thanika (Annika) Sirikulthada

As a multicultural student, Annika has always been interested in the study of cultures and how the different elements of her identities collide. She wishes to deliver this speech on cultural appropriation because she believes that everyone should be entitled to basic understanding on this issue and that this theme is one of high relevance to everyone in the community.

An aspiring astrophysicist obsessed with punk music, Inq explores the inconspicuous, interdisciplinary themes of rebels... in science. Whether it be scientific revolutions or groundbreaking explanations, progress is fuelled by maverick thinkers. Yet, one group of world changers -- historically deterred from the spotlight -- has emerged: women. A fusion of her passion to unlock the cosmos, love for history and feminist ardor, Inq discusses the emergence of women in STEM.

Weeranuch Kamolrungvarakul

Weeranuch Kamolrungvarakul is the co-founder and CEO of Infinitus Services, founder of P2N Education and Primus Alpha Education. Using the knowledge gained from living her life in Singapore and Japan, she also gives lectures on Japanese communications and intercultural management. She is a mother of two and currently lives in Bangkok.

May-May is a keen explorer of new perspectives on global issues through open discussions. As an international student living in Bangkok, she is particularly interested in social mobility, inequality, and the role of education.
