In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxDRCC, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxDRCC event, TEDTalks will be used to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
Employee engagement has been identified as a priority in many workplaces. Someone who is engaged in their work makes a personal connection with the goals and values of their employer and becomes a stakeholder in the organization`s success. Improving connections within our teams and with administration, patients, and community partners has potential to improve our well-being, performance and ultimately, the patient experience. The theme of TEDxDRCC is “Making the Connection”. Our goal is to present various ways to promote positive and productive connections in our workplace and to create an awareness of the multitude of amazing TED talks available to educate and inspire. With these goals in mind, we have selected TED talks from some talented speakers on what motivates us in our jobs, how we can improve our teamwork, influence change, and bring out the best in each other by recognizing and embracing our differences.
