Frederik Bub
Frederik Bub, born 1989 studied physics with focus on photovoltaics at the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg. Involved for some years in a variety of environmental activities outside the university, he founded nachHALLtig in 2012: the student driven team of nachHALLtig supports education for sustainable development at the University Halle. Thus, they realise annual interdisciplinary courses to empower students to contribute to solutions for today’s environmental and social problems. Since 2016, Frederik Bub is research assistant in the section of physics education at the University Halle. In his research he deals with questions about the relations between physics and technology and the role of responsibility in scientific-technological education.
Isabel Peter
Isabel Peter is a prospective teacher for English, Latin and Yoga in Berlin. In April 2016, Isabel‘s 13-year-old sister Valentina died after a one-year fight against a highly aggressive bone tumor. Instead of desparing, Isabel and her family searched for a constructive answer to this family tragedy and founded Stiftung Valentina. Like this, the family is now helping other severely and terminally ill children and their families. They are actively carrying on Valentina‘s legacy. In doing so, they are trying to close a huge gap in our health care system: the mobile palliative care of terminally ill children in rural areas.

Currently, she is completing her doctorate about cereal domestication. Her interdisciplinary background and the desire to explain what she does clearly showed her the lack in science communication. Therefore, her enthusiasm for art became a substantial part of her work and when Thomas, a scientist at Halle University, reached out to her for ‘The Art of Science’ initiative this passion was sparked.
