In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Babatunde Irukera, is the Director General/Chief Executive of the Consumer Protection Council (CPC). Babatunde has been in active legal practice for well over two decades. His varied experience range from being in-house counsel to General Counsel, managing partner in a law firm, and advising senior government officials and key government institutions. Over this diverse career, Babatunde gained considerable experience in transactions, civil rights and commercial litigation, regulatory work, government relations and practice management. This includes over 10 years in the United States engaging in complex litigation and settlements, including several jury trials and significant appellate work. He successfully managed the complex multi-jurisdictional transition of firms in the United States and England in establishing a broad based practice in Nigeria, focusing primarily on public interest litigation to protect society from injurious conduct and unscrupulous behaviour.

Tope Fasua is an Economist by training, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and a Member of the Institute of Directors (MIoD). He also possesses a Masters Degree with Distinction, in Financial Markets and Derivatives from London Metropolitan University. He worked in the Nigerian Banking Industry where he rose to become a Regional Director of a local bank before quitting in 2005. Tope presently runs Global Analytics Consulting Ltd, Nigeria, a company of Management and Financial Consultants. He is also a columnist, and Secretary, Board of Economists for the Abuja-based Daily Trust, apart from his monthly contributions to Abu-Dhabi-based Capital Business Magazine and Inside Watch Africa Magazines among others. Tope has written four books chiefly on the Nigerian question with emphasis on how to get the economy and society to attain the elusive development and progress.

Adeola Remi-John is a graduate of Electrical Electronics Engineering from Nigeria’s premier university, the University of Ibadan. Her career in the corporate world spans over thirteen years with experience in Health Safety and Environment, Quality Management, Sales and Marketing and ISO audits. She holds a certificate in Technology, Operations and Value Chain management from MIT Sloan School of Management and is an alumnus of the Owner Management Programme of the Lagos Business School (OMP17). After voluntarily leaving the corporate world, she deftly put her experience into practice by delving into management consulting, logistics &supply chain, brick & mortar and online retail sales. She constantly keeps herself busy by learning new things and sharing new ideas with likeminded knowledge seekers. Her most recent foray into the world of academics earned her an MBA (Distinction) in Global Business from Coventry University London Campus, UK.
