Anvi Arora

Anvi is a rising junior at Mason High School. Born in London, she has lived in Arizona, Texas, and just recently moved to Ohio in 2017. At school, Anvi is part of Model United Nations, the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Spanish Club, and the school orchestra. Outside of school, Anvi enjoys traveling and watching movies.

Johnothon Sauer

Johnothon Sauer is one of the leaders for the mathematics department at William Mason High School. 2018-2019 will be his 18th year at Mason High School and his 29th year of teaching. Raised in Columbus, Ohio, Johnothon earned his B.S.Ed. from The Ohio State University, taking courses that led to his certification to teach mathematics and music in grades 7-12. He subsequently earned his M.A.T. and Ph.D. in Mathematics from The University of Cincinnati. Johnothon is a strong advocate of student-centered, discussion-based learning, and in particular of the Harkness Method of instruction, as well as of evidence-based assessment. He and his wife have been married for 28 years. They have four children ranging in age from 26 to 16.

Kaavya Ramachandran

Kaavya is a rising senior with an alarmingly long last name. Being a huge nerd for graphic design, writing, animation, and computer science, she is just a little anxious about choosing a college major. She has a weakness for mechanical pencils and 8-bit music. She also has a little sister who's cooler than her. The concept of giving a TEDx talk both excites and terrifies Kaavya immensely, which she hopes her spectators will find entertaining. She is honored to have you as her first live studio audience.

Katherine Moseley

Katie Moseley is an upcoming senior at Mason High School. Outside of her love for medical science , she is incredibly passionate about social sciences. Issues surrounding gender violence- sexual assault, domestic violence, relationship abuse, sexual harassment, and sexual abuse of children- have become deeply rooted in our society, and Katie strongly believes that the first step towards alleviating and ultimately eradicating these problems lies in discussing and confronting the bystander mentality that has allowed the continuation of said gender violence. Her own experiences in regards to sexual violence have made her realize that she has an obligation to share her story, thus continuing the conversation and helping others to see the root causes of sexual violence, and how we can prevent it. By speaking out, she hopes to add her voice to the ever-growing public discourse surrounding sexual violence in our society.

Katie Moseley

Katie Moseley is a senior at Mason High School. She is deeply passionate about issues surrounding gender violence and strongly believes that the first step towards alleviating and ultimately eradicating these problems lies in discussing and confronting the bystander mentality that has allowed the continuation of said gender violence. Her own experiences in regards to sexual violence have made her realize that she has an obligation to share her story, thus continuing the conversation and helping others to see the root causes of sexual violence, and how we can prevent it.

Katrina Cornish

Katrina Cornish is a professor of agricultural sciences at OSU, Dr. Cornish, an advocate for biofuels and member of the national academy inventors.

Khaula Sawah

Dr. Khaula Sawah, a Doctor of Pharmacy graduate from University of Kentucky and a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist, is a clinical/ staff pharmacist who has been working at different local hospitals, including UC Hospital. She worked at one point of her career at the Cincinnati Health Department and volunteered at the Drop-In Shelter clinic, serving the homeless population in downtown Cincinnati. Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis in 2011, Dr. Sawah has been dedicating most of her time in medical missions to support the Syrian people affected by the crisis in Syria and Turkey. Dr Sawah has served as an Executive Director and a Board Member on several nonprofit organizations. She is a cofounder of Union of Medical Care and Relief Organizations-USA (UOSSM USA), a nonprofit 501(C)3 charitable organization incorporated in the State of TX. She worked on the establishment of the Organization and was the CEO for almost 2 years. She is also a cofounder of Syrian American Foundation (SAF), a nonprofit 501(C)3 charitable organization based in Cincinnati. Dr Sawah has served as a Board member on UOSSM’s international partner (UOSSM-International). She spent almost 2 years of her life, volunteering as the Executive Director of UOSSM’s Turkish office. She worked with local Syrian doctors and pharmacists on the establishment of UOSSM office in Turkey and the establishment of its Emergency and Specialty hospital in Syria at the Syrian-Turkish border, which currently serves over 20,000 patients a month. UOSSM has provided medical aid to over half a million Syrians inside Syria and in Turkey and is currently one of the major humanitarian medical actors in the Syrian crisis providing medical relief and healthcare, mental health and psychosocial support services to the affected Syrian people in the region. In addition, realizing the importance of empowering the local population, UOSSM has been working on the capacity building of thousands of local Syrian doctors and other healthcare providers and administrators inside Syria. Dr. Sawah is currently the Lead of UOSSM in USA and until recently was the Chair of UOSSM Quality Assurance Committee; ensuring Quality and Accountability in the medical services provided by the Organization.

Lacy Starling

Lacy Starling is the founder and president of Legion Logistics, which was was named one of the fastest growing women- owned business on Forbes. She oversees the marketing, human resources, accounting and finance teams and serve as the face of the company, spreading the message of our awesomeness from coast to coast.

Megan Cui

Megan Cui is a senior at Mason High School and the executive director/co-founder of Mason Hack Club (a chapter of the international Hack Club organization), a community-centered, corporate-supported coding club that aims to spread technology literacy. Heavily involved in the Cincinnati technology scene, Megan co-founded and led CincyHacks, Cincinnati's first high school hackathon, completely free of cost to attendees, and worked with her team to gather over $8,000 in corporate support from major partners such as Cengage Learning and Fifth Third Bank. Megan also worked with Hack Club members all around the country to develop the Midwest's largest high school hackathon, Hack Chicago, in July of 2018, with partnerships from NVIDIA, Bose, McDonald's, and more to raise over $24,000 for 300+ student hackers. Additionally, a strong proponent for giving youth a voice through computer literacy, Megan ran a summer coding Hack Camp in 2017 and 2018 with the Mason Hack Club team, teaching 150+ students the basics of web development and ReactJS while raising over $20,000 to fund club volunteering and outreach programs. Outside of her involvement in technology, Megan is an advocate for mental health de-stigmatization and multi-cultural understanding -- this diverse background in passion and action led her to become the youngest fellow ever, at age 16, accepted to the highly-selective Interact fellowship. In college, she plans on majoring in computer science and/or economics and staying involved in technology outreach/volunteering programs.

Nicholas Twine

Nicholas is a graduate researcher at the University of Cincinnati in the Novel Devices Lab where research is being conducted at the cutting edge of biotechnology. Their research is cross-disciplinary, ranging from Microfluidics to Biology, Electronics to Chemistry, and will revolutionize the healthcare industry by providing reliable research to guide industry development of on-body, continuous monitoring sensors.

Shawn Isaacs

Shawn Isaacs is the Youth Pastor of the Cincinnati Chinese Church in Mason, OH. Shawn is currently pursuing his MDiv at Cincinnati Christian University with a focus in counseling. His interests include reading, sports, writing, and long walks through cemeteries.
