In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ala Hamdan

درست الإخراج في أكاديمية نيويورك لصناعة الأفلام في إيطاليا وكتابة السيناريو في نيويورك وحصدت بعض أعمالها أكثر من ٥ ملايين مشاهدة على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي. تقدّم آلاء سلسلة (سينيراما) على يوتيوب تتحدث من خلاله عن فن صناعة الأفلام وكواليسه. آلاء ناشطة في العمل التطوعي والحقوقي والاجتماعي، وتنقّلت بين عدة دول توثق من خلال مدوناتها وعدستها لحظات إنسانية هامة في الأردن والنّيجر وتركيّا. تسلط أعمالها الضّوء على قضايا اجتماعية هامّة مثل العنف ضد المرأة وعمالة الأطفال وغيرها. آلاء شريك في صناعة كتاب بعنوان Muslims of the World والذي يحمل قصصًا ملهمةً لمسلمين من حول العالم. ينافس الآن هذا الكتاب للوصول لرفوف "الأكثر مبيعًا" في قائمة نيويورك الشهيرة NY Best Seller 2018. Ala is a Jordanian filmmaker and co-founder of (at films) production company. She graduated from New York Film Academy. She has won several awards for her shorts and PSAs. She is also a jury member in several film festivals. Some of her work was viewed more than 5 Million times on socials media. Her work focuses on uplifting and humanitarian causes such as child labour, domestic violence..ect . Ala presents a Youtube series titled Cinerama. It gives basic tools for people interested in filmmaking. Ala is active in the humanitarian field. She has worked on several projects in Jordan, Turkey and Niger. Through her lens and blogs, she documents her experiences. Ala is a co-creator of a book titled Muslims of the World, telling inspiring stories from Muslims around the globe. The book is now competing as a NY Best Seller 2018.

Aroub Soubh

اشتهرت السيدة عروب صبح بمنتصف التسعينيات ببرنامجها الشهير "وقت الفرح" الذي كان أول برنامج أطفال أسبوعي يُعرض على التلفزيون الأردني. تحصّلت على شهادة البكالوريوس في التصميم الداخلي (Interior Design) من جامعة اليرموك، ثم التحقت بالجامعة الأردنية لدراسة الماستر في حقوق الإنسان والتنمية البشرية وحصلت عليها في عام 2015، وهي من الناشطات في حقوق الإنسان والمرأة في الأردن خاصّة والعالم العربي عامّة. شغلت عروب صبح عدّة مناصب في مسيرتها الحافلة، ومنها: - مستشارة لحقوق المرأة في منظمة EuroMed لحقوق الإنسان. - عضو مجلس إدارة مجموعة "رنين" لتوفير الكتب السماعية للأطفال فاقدي البصر. - عضو مجلس إدارة التحالف العربي للنساء في مجال الموسيقى (AAWM). - مؤسسة قناة وقت الفرح للأطفال (Waqt Al-Farah) على موقع الYouTube. - كاتبة لموقع "مونتي كارلو الدولية". - منتجة/مقدّمة برامج (سابقًا) في التلفزيون الأردني. Farah Akiely

She also works as a researcher at the Center for International Urban Studies at UF. Currently, Farah is leading one of the planning teams working towards rebuilding Puerto Rico after hurricane Maria damaged the island last September. This international team, responsible of the Housing and Informalities studies, consists of planners from North America, Europe and South America. Where in phase I, drone technologies where developed for the first time to prepare a detailed documentation of the damages, along with 3D modeling smart applications.

Faried Omarah

السّيّد فريد عُمارة. فريد مهندس معماريّ مصريّ، مهتمّ بالفنون البصريّة، له أعمال فنيّة تعبر عن المعنى باستخدام الصّورة، اشتهر بصفحته على مواقع التّواصل الاجتماعيّ باسمه الفنّيّ “Fariedesign”، ويشهد الكثير من متابعيه على تأثّرهم بطرقه الإبداعيّة في تصاميمه التي ينشرها على صفحته. Mr. Faried Omarah. Faried is an Egyptian architect who is also passionate about visual arts. His work is based on expressing the thoughts and meanings behind the words through his unique designs. He is known by his famous social media pages under his art name “Fariedesign”, a label that made him very famous among the young Arab generation, and his followers assure that his work has touched them on many levels.

Kasem Hato

السّيد قاسم الحتو المعروف بمدوّنته "ابن حتّوتة". قاسم هو رحّالة أردني وصانع محتوى على العديد من وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي تحت اسمه الفني "ابن حتّوتة"، وهو مؤسس لمجتمع مسافرين تحت مسمّى "مسافرون بلا حدود". هدفه هو مساعدة النّاس للحصول على تجارب غنيّة في سفرهم وترحالهم، عن طريق توفير طرق السّفر وخبراته بالترحال بأقل التكاليف. تخرّج قاسم بتخصص علم الحاسوب من الجامعة الألمانيّة الأردنيّة، حيث أمضى سنةً في ألمانيا في برنامج التّبادل الثقافي، بالإضافة إلى البرتغال حيث درس فصلًا دراسيًا فيها. شارك ابن حتّوتة مؤخّرًا في برنامج "سديم" الذي يعدّ أكبر برنامج لصانعي المحتوى العربي على الإنترنت، واستطاع الوصول لمرحلة نصف النّهائي. Kasem is a Jordanian traveler and content creator on several social media platforms, going by the nickname “Ibn Hattuta”. Also he is the founder of the very well-known travelers’ community “مسافرون بلا حدود". His aim is to help people have a better and more meaningful travel experience with a low budget and sharing positivity. He finished his studies as a computer scientist in Jordan in which he did an exchange year in Germany and a semester in Portugal. He participated in the biggest Arab competition for content creators “Sadeem” and got to be one of the semi-finalists.

Laith Abbadi

الدكتور ليث العبّادي، طبيب مقيم في علاج الأمراض النفسيّة والإدمان وناشط في التوعية عن الطب النفسي. بدأ د. ليث مسيرته بدراسة الطّبّ في الجامعة الهاشمية، ثم تخرّج منها عام 2013 وابتدأ مشواره في الطّبّ النفسي كمقيم في مستشفى الجامعة الأردنية. وله العديد من المحاضرات و الفيديوهات للتوعية عن الطب النفسي و كسر الحاجز ما بين الناس و الاضطرابات النفسية. Dr. Laith Abbadi (psychiatrist). Dr. Abbadi started his medical journey at Hashemite University, and graduated in 2013 with an MD degree. He then joined the University of Jordan Hospital residency program for psychiatry.

Mais Nobani

ميس النوباني اعلامية أردنية بدأت مسيرتها عام 2011 عبر قناة رؤيا التي تعتبر القناة الأكثر مشاهدة في الأردن. اهتمامات ميس النوباني تتمحور حول القضايا الاجتماعية، من أهمها تمكين الشباب والمرأة، التعليم، ذوي الإعاقة، بالإضافة إلى العدالة الاجتماعية. تقدم حاليًا السيدة ميس برنامج "حلوة يا دنيا" الأسبوعي على قناة رؤيا Mais Nobani is a Jordanian journalist who started her career in 2011 through the channel Ro’ya, which is considered the most watched channel in Jordan. Mais Nobani’s concerns revolve around social issues, the most important of which are the empowerment of youth and women, education, people with disabilities, and social justice. Rabee Zureikat

السّيّد ربيع زريقات، مؤسّس "مبادرة ذكرى". بدأ السّيّد ربيع بمبادرة ذكرى قبل أكثر من عشرة سنوات، وهي اليوم تقف كمبادرة مجتمعيّة فعّالة ومسجّلة في وزارة التّنمية الاجتماعيّة بعد حصولها على جائزة الملك عبدالله الثّاني للإنجاز والإبداع الشّبابي، وجائزة اليونسكو-اليابان للتّربية من أجل التّنمية المستدامة لعام 2017 وغيرها من الجوائز الدّوليّة. انبثقت عن مبادرته مشاريعَ فرعيّة، مثل مشروع ذكرى للتّعلّم الشّبابي الذي يهدف إلى إعادة اكتشاف ثراء المجتمعات لاستلهام حلول مستدامة للكثير من التّحديات الاقتصاديّة والاجتماعيّة. Mr. Zureikat started “Zikra” over a decade ago, and now it stands as an effective social initiative after it has been registered by the Ministry of Social Development in Jordan. Zikra Initiative was awarded with King Abdullah II Award For Youth Innovation And Achievement (KAAYIA). Zikra also won the 2017 UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) for its “Popular Learning Program”. Zikra Initiative branched other side projects such as Zikra Popular Learning Program”; which aims to rediscover the quality of life among societies, and to enlighten the community to search for more sustainable resources due to the economic crisis.

Sabah Harahsheh

السّيّدة صباح حراحشة. صباح هي مذيعة أخبار التلفزيون الأردني ومدرسة في كلية الإعلام في جامعة الشرق الأوسط، معدّة ومقدّمة متخصصة في برمجة الحاسوب وتحليل النظم ومتخصصة أيضًا في الإعلام وباحثة في تحليل الخطاب الإعلامي. حاصلة على شهادة الماجستير في الإعلام بتقدير امتياز وماجستير في برمجة الكمبيوتر بتقدير امتياز وخريجة الجامعة الأردنية / كلية العلوم تخصص برمجة وتحليل نظم، وتعمل حاليًا على الحصول على درجة الدكتوراة في الإعلام من جامعة عين شمس في القاهرة. شاركت في العديد من المؤتمرات والحلقات النقاشية ونظمت العديد من النشاطات والأعمال التطوعية منذ العام 1988 حتى الآن داخل مجتمع جراحة الأعصاب في معظم الدول عبر العالم. Mrs. Sabah Harahsheh. Sabah is a TV anchor and presenter in the Jordanian National Telvesion, and is a lecturer in the faculty of media in the Middle East University. She graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Programming. She managed to obtain the Master’s Degree with excellence in Media, and another Master’s Degree in Computer Programming. She is now working for her PhD in Media at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. She participated in many conferences and organized multiple voluntary events since 1988 with the Community of Neurosurgeons around the world.

Saed Khawaldeh

Saed Khawaldeh is a researcher of neuroscience and biomedical engineering at the University of Oxford. His main research area of interest is developing neurotechnological applications through integrating neuroimaging methodologies (i.e. MRI, EEG, LFP, and MEG), brain stimulation techniques (i.e. DBS, TMS, TACS, and TDCS), and artificial intelligence (i.e. machine learning, deep learning, and feature engineering), for diagnosis and treatment of patients with brain disorders (i.e. Parkinson, epilepsy, OCD, and depression) and physical disabilities (i.e. paralysis and limb loss). In 2014, Khawaldeh has done an internship at MIT Media Lab (U.S.A.). In early 2015, he started a research internship at the National Magnetic Resonance Research Center of Turkey, he also worked as teaching assistant at Bilkent University (Turkey). Afterward, he started working as a research and teaching assistant between Istanbul Sehir and Bogazici Universities (Turkey). In summer 2016, he started a research internship at MPI for Biological Cybernetics (Germany). In Sep 2016, he started working on a six months research project at the French national center for scientific research. Afterward, he has done a six months research internship at NASA medical Informatics. In summer 2017, he worked as a research assistant at Aalto University (Finland). Starting from January 2018, Khawaldeh joined the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences and MRC Brain Network Dynamics Unit at University of Oxford (U.K.). Khawaldeh has several published and under-review papers in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences. In addition to his professional experience, Khawaldeh is a volunteer, lead member, founder and co-founder in/of several NGOs and initiatives. Recently, he started an initiative where he is increasing awareness, knowledge, and giving support and help to young Arab students who are looking for internships, training and research opportunities abroad.

Salam Katanani

السّيّدة سلام قطناني. سلام من شخصيّات الإنترنت العربيّة صاحبة الرّيادة في مجال التّعليم الحديث بطريقتها الفريدة على موقع اليوتيوب، وهي متحدّثة في مجال العلوم وأيضًا في مجال حقوق المرأة. Salam is an Arab educator, speaker, entertainer and internet personality. Best known for her educational YouTube channel. She is also a women's rights activist.

Sami Hourani

Medical Doctor and Entrepreneur

Sami Hourani is a medical doctor and serial social entrepreneur. He is the founding CEO of the well-known educational platform www.for9a.com and Souq Fann (souqfann.com ) MENA’s number one e-commerce portal for handicrafts and local art products. Dr. Hourani is the founder and the executive director of the regional organization Leaders of Tomorrow and the new and creative qualitative research methodology FADFED. He is a fellow at Ashoka, largest hub for social innovators world wide. He received King Abdullah II Demoqrati award in 2014 and EUROMED youth award in 2013. He was also elected as the Jordanian Role Model of 2011 and received the Jordanian title “Knight of Change” in 2008. He is certified in community organizing from Harvard University and in Persuasive Communication from Delaware University in the United States. He has an M.D degree from University of Jordan.

Walid Tahabsem

Over the years, Mr. Tahabsem has been an active member of a number of key national boards, councils and associations including: Jordan’s National Agenda, Jordan’s Board of Education, Jordan University for Science and Technology (JUST) Advisory Council, German Jordan University (GJU) Advisory Council, Information Technology Association of Jordan (INTAJ) Board and Jordan’s Youth Development Program (INJAZ). Mr. Tahabsem has served on many positions throughout his glorious career, here are some of them: He is a board member of the Jordan Strategy Forum (JSF). Moreover, Mr. Tahabsem is a Board of Director at (Endeavor) since 2013 recently taking over as Chairman of the Board, due to his believe in the active role (Endeavor) plays in enhancing the country’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Mr. Tahabsem is a member of Advisory Council of the National Initiative 1000 Entrepreneur and also a co-founder and a board member in (Oasis500), the region’s premier education and counsellor driven seed investment program. In addition, he is an active member at (Saudi Al-Aghar Think-Tank): a nonprofit and independent Think-Tank aiming to transform Saudi Arabia to a “Knowledge Society”.
