Becca Pizzi
Becca is the first American female to run the World Marathon Challenge in 2016- 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days, and this year, she made history by running it again and breaking the World Record; 6 Days, 7 Hours and 58 minutes. Her current goal is to complete a marathon in all 50 states and someday take on Kona Ironman. She is also a business owner and has a job managing Moozy’s Ice Cream shop. Becca is 38 years old and lives in Belmont MA with her husband Joe and 10-year-old daughter Taylor.
Bryan Reimer
Bryan is a Research Scientist in the MIT AgeLab and the Associate Director of The New England University Transportation Center. He aims to find collaborative solutions to challenges associated with driver attention management, distraction, automation, and the use of advanced driver assistance systems to maximize mobility and safety. He founded the Advanced Human Factors Evaluator for Attentional Demand (AHEAD) consortium, to develop the next generation of driver attention measurement tools and the Advanced Vehicle Technology (AVT) consortium, focused on understanding driver use of emerging vehicle technologies like automated driving systems. Bryan has been honored with a 2018 Autos2050 Impact Award for his innovative contributions to the automotive industry. He is an author on over 200 technical contributions and a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a Ph.D. in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering. He resides in Brookline, Massachusetts, has two children (4 and 8) and is an avid skier.
Carmela Mascio
Carmela Mascio is an infectious disease microbiologist with a passion for taking on “unsolvable” problems and a talent for working in “white space” innovation – problem-spaces that have no template for success and require radically new ways of thinking.
Corrie Painter
Corrie is the Associate Director of Operations and Scientic Outreach at the Broad Institute. A trained cancer researcher with a Ph.D. in biochemistry, she partners with advocacy groups and engages patients with metastatic breast cancer, metastatic prostate cancer and angiosarcoma through social media to carry out patient-partnered genomics studies conducted at the Broad Institute where patients can consent online to donate their stored tumor samples, saliva, blood, medical records and their voice to directly accelerate the pace of discovery. Corrie, an angiosarc ma survivor, is also a passionate leading patient advocate who co-founded and serves as the Vice-president of Angiosarcoma Awareness, an organization that supports research and awareness efforts surrounding this
disease.
Fares Dehbi
Fares is a senior in high school originally from Morocco and currently living in Qatar. He has been singing since age 7 and is now half-way to breaking a Guinness world record by learning to sing 90 countries’ national anthems in their native languages. He has performed in an off-Broadway show in New York, and loves to empower more people like him to get out of their shells and shine!

İrfan is an 11th grade student in Haydarpaşa High School İstanbul, Turkey expecting to graduate in 2019. He is interested in other cultures and languages from around the world and aspires to study linguistics in a leading university after high school. He is passionate about creating world peace.

Iya Khalil
Iya is a technology entrepreneur and physicist with a vision of transforming medicine into a discipline that is quantitative, predictive, and patient-centric via big data analytic approaches. She co-founded two big data companies, Via Science and GNS Healthcare, which are underpinned by a proprietary computational engine that she co-invented. Dr. Khalil’s expertise spans applications from drug discovery and development to
treatment algorithms that can be applied at the point of care.
She was recognized by President Obama as a leading entrepreneur in genomic medicine. She was named to the PharmaVOICE 100 list of the most inspiring people in the life sciences industry for bringing people from healthcare and life sciences together to change patients’ lives with predictive modeling. Iya serves on the board of the Accelerated Cure Project and the Scientic Advisory Board of Biocentury Innovations. Recently, she was appointed to the Massachusetts Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA) Oversight Council by Governor Baker.
Jeannette McCarthy
Mayor Jeannette A. McCarthy is a life-long resident of Waltham, MA. Mayor McCarthy attended Waltham public schools and is a graduate of Waltham High School, Boston College, Suffolk University Law School, and Northeastern University. Prior to being elected Mayor, Ms. McCarthy served two years as a Councilor-at-Large and served six years on the Waltham School Committee. She was also employed for 7 years as a city solicitor and became Mayor of Waltham in 2004. Mayor McCarthy had a private law practice, and also volunteered her time for many organizations including the American Cancer Society, Greater Waltham Association for Retarded Citizens, and Waltham Partnership for Youth.
Ken Manning
Ken has spent his life looking for the keys to mental well-being and personal productivity, and how to use those keys to help others have great lives and get a lot done. He is the co-founder of Insight Principles, a global consulting company bringing a powerful understanding of how the human mind works into corporations and training consultants and coaches to do the same. He has been a trainer, consultant, psychotherapist, and business leader for over 25 years. As a licensed psychologist, Ken is a past member of the Massachusetts Psychological Association, the APA, and the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. He has also been an Associate Professor at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. He has been married for 32 years, has a grown son, two stepdaughters and five active grandchildren. He loves the outdoors, music, photography, woodworking and spending time with family and friends.
Melissa Honig
Melissa Honig is the current Lead Organizer of the Watch City Steampunk Festival, and has been a volunteer with the event in its various incarnations since 2011. Melissa has been going to geeky events since the mid 1980's, when she saw the Doctor Who Fan Club answering the telephones on local TVdurin g a live PBS telethon and realized that people actually get together to have this kind of fun! For her day job, she builds online courses and ebooks for Pearson Education, a textbook publisher. Melissa has been a resident of Waltham since 1990.
