In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Abhinay Bisht

20-year old Abhinay has been beat boxing for almost two years now and he doesn’t look like he will stop anytime soon. He had always found the rhythms and beats created through beatboxing extremely amusing. Tom Thum’s speech at TedXSydney drove him to learn everything there is to beat boxing and more. Since then, Abhinay has performed in over 15 Mumbai college fests and has even judged events at KES Shroff College and Lala Lajpat Rai College.

Arjun Kamdar

Arjun Kamdar is a 21-year-old naturalist and field researcher who has been part of wildlife research and conservation projects across varied landscapes. His bond with wildlife began when he was a toddler and chanced upon a snake crawling beside him in the rainforests of the Western Ghats. Arjun spends his time traveling to distant, often remote places in order to understand local communities and their relationship with the forests. Arjun also works on exploring the relationship between economics and wildlife conservation and has been published in leading international scientific and wildlife magazines and has received several accolades for the same.

Dhananjay Sharma

Team Indus is a for-profit organisation headquartered in Bangalore, India. The team of professionals from various backgrounds in science, technology, finance and media was the only Indian team attempting to win the Google Lunar X Prize mission announced in 2007. The mission, often referred to as "Moon 2.0", was a challenge that called for participating teams to design and land a spacecraft on the Moon. The craft was required to travel more than 500 metres (1,600 ft) on the lunar surface and send feedback to Earth. The deadline of the competition, which initially attracted entries from over 30 teams from 17 countries, was 31 March 2018 and it had various prizes, including a main prize of US$20 million. The competition was ended prematurely in January 2018 when Google announced that, following discussions with the remaining competitiors, it was clear that no team could meet the deadline. TeamIndus raised US$35 million in December 2014 from investors. In January 2015, TeamIndus were awarded US$1 million for having successfully completed a test of their landing system. It was one of the five teams, out of the 18 remaining entrants, to be rewarded for clearing a specified test.

Dharmesh Sachde

Dharmesh, an educator and a photographer had his first encounter with photography way back in 2004. His deep interest in it led him to becoming a freelancer by providing wide range services in the various genres of photography. With a dream to educate people in photography and help the youth to make a successful career he started his very own Masters Digital Photography School.

Carrying 25kgs of instruments on himself and coordinating 13 instruments, he is inspiring both young and old to push themselves to their limits and follow their passion. 25 years old, 25 kgs, 13 instruments and a set of damaged lungs, one needs to experience his magic, first hand.

Kirti Dutta, Ph D., is currently Professor of Marketing – Ansal Unviersity, Gurgaon. She has a rich experience of more than twenty-three years including 11 years of corporate experience and more than 12 years in academics, research and corporate training. A prolific researcher and author of many books; more than 70 of her research papers have been published in national and international journals and conference proceedings. She is currently working on many national and international projects in the domain of branding, communications and services marketing.

Nidhi Goyal

Nidhi Goyal is India’s first disabled woman comedian, using humour to challenge existing notions around disability, gender and sexuality.

Riddhi Shah

Riddhi Shah is an educationist. She began working at the age of 16 with complete clarity on how good education can be one of India’s biggest and most sustainable solutions to lead it to greatness. For the last 11 years, she’s dived in and explored the different Education Sectors.Some of her work had her venturing into schools along India’s borders in Ladakh and into rural schools where social evils like casteism and gender bias is rampant. She's also worked with the elite schools in metros. With teacher empowerment organizations and just by herself, she’s now worked with close to 800 schools across 10 states. Riddhi makes teachers realize their roles as catalysts in transforming young minds . Using this rich experience, she’s begun to provide Consultancy services for Corporate Social Responsibility & Philanthropists, among other programmes.

Sonal Holland

India’s first Master of Wine, Sonal Holland is dedicated to disseminating wine information to consumers. An educator and consultant on wine, she is the founder of her namesake Wine Academy and SoHo Wine Club. On her agenda is the charge to promote wine culture in India and ensure India remains top of mind in wine conversations around the world.

Sumit Shah

Sumit Shah is the co-founder and Director of Operation and Supply Chain at Bombay Hemp Company, an Agro-based enterprise re-imagining the future of Indian agriculture and sustainable living with hemp. Sumit is a nature-lover and heads the Hempcrete division of the company’s R&D wing, which explores the use of Industrial Hemp as a green building material.

Sunil Dutt

Sunil Dutt was born into a family of orthodox Brahmans. His grandparents were the first disciples of Swami Shivananda, pro partition in Delhi. During his career of running an SSI (small scale industry) for about 30 years making agricultural machinery in Greater Noida, his interactions with local farmers, businesses and events turned out to be teachings which helped in understanding life, playing a role in shaping human life. It made him realize that religious theories are meant to be passed in life if one has to have any understanding of what it is saying in essence. Researching the holy books, rituals unfolded an experience so extraordinary that all else became immaterial of what was traditionally taught to him. The Speaking Tree on the internet came as a blessing tailor-made through which he has been sharing his views for the last 7 years. He has translated books like Geeta, Patanjali Sutra and soon will be published. His work endeavours to get to the essence that is religion as a whole and avoid any misconceptions about it, especially Hinduism which is a science of being - How and why is this world including us the way it is?

Upamanyu Ghose

Upamanyu Ghose is a 3rd year computer science and engineering student, who is an ex computer vision team member of Project Manas, the only team comprising only of undergraduate students, working to build India's first driverless car for Mahindra's million dollar rise prize challenge. He has been actively pursuing projects and research in the field of computer vision and natural language processing for the past year and is currently working on a project to enable searching through contents of a video. His prior projects include, cervical cancer detection using deep learning, tweet generator, generating stem cell lineage using image processing techniques (assisted a lab in Imperial College London). He’s also a part of a group called Teach Code for Good, which focuses on teaching underprivileged children the basics of coding in order to gear them up for the future. His future plan is to pursue research in the field of human cognition in order to understand the mind better through artificial intelligence.
