Andrea Lauer is an artist, designer, and inventor residing in New York City who works internationally producing multi-media experiences. She is the Founder & Chief Creative Officer of Risen from the Thread a design-thinking and innovation agency focused on the human body and its relationship with technology. She was chosen as one of Randi Zuckerberg’s #52womenin52weeks, a series that highlights female entrepreneurs and is currently a Director’s Fellow at the MIT Media Lab.

He’s been a guest on The Charlie Rose Show and 60 Minutes, and spoken at TED, The World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos, and the Aspen Ideas Festival.

Erez Yoeli is a research scientist at MIT and the Director of the Applied Cooperation Team. He uses game theory to study puzzling aspects of people’s sense of rights, ethics, and altruism, then applies the lessons from this work to addressing real-world problems like increasing energy conservation, improving antibiotic adherence, and reducing smoking in public places.

Joel Salinas

Joel Salinas is a brain doctor at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Neurology. Dr. Salinas was born with an extraordinary neurological trait that provides unique insights into his patients and enables him to experience life in a remarkable way. After incidentally discovering his atypical form of sensory perception, he pursued a deep curiosity to learn more about the brain and how we all experience the world.

Lisa Feldman Barrett

Lisa Feldman Barrett is a University Distinguished Professor of Psychology at Northeastern University, with positions in psychiatry and radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. She has published over 200 peer-reviewed research papers in top journals on emotion, psychology, and neuroscience. Her research teams span the globe, studying people in the West, the East, and remote parts of Africa.

Sebastian Buckup

Global Convener
Sebastian Buckup is Head of Programming and Member of the Executive Committee at the World Economic Forum. His team shapes global, regional, and industry agendas at the WEF’s annual flagship events in Davos and China, as well as multiple regional meetings around the globe. He worked previously at the International Labour Organization, the United Nations Development Programme, and co-founded several technology startups.

Tony Luciani

Documentary Caregiver
Tony Luciani is a Canadian visual artist working in the mediums of painting and photography. He is known for his interpretive realist style and exploration of the themes of nostalgia, memory, and aging. Luciani’s early painting and drawing practice was highly influenced by the Renaissance Masters and often depicts scenes of rural Southern Ontarian life and landscape.
