In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Irene Residence Acapella Stellenbosch University

Irene Women's Residence is undergraduate residence of Stellenosch University, founded in 1963. This acapella group takes part in a longstanding tradition by competing with other groups on campus. The members of the group are all residents of Irene and each year they compete in a national acapella competition. The 2018 group were the overall winners at the campus level and the runners up at of the Varsity Acapella competition, on the national level.

Nico Simpson

Dr. Nico Simpson's language is visual. He is a concept artist with a doctoral degree in the education of adults. He draws ideas worth spreading, having done this in large conference settings in real time. In corporate settings he does process redesign and customer journey mapping. For NGOs he uses his artistic talents, doing business canvasses and impact analysis. He believes that all of this is possible through “sexy” and playful minimalist illustration.
