Amrith Kumaar

Student

Amrith Kumaar is a tenth grader and is excited to share his message on the Tedx stage. Amrith partcipes in Tennis, Model UN, FTC Robotics, and also serves as a Peer Counselor. He even started learning to play tennis when we was just seven years old! Last summer Amrith got into Artificial intelligence and cloud computing through a project he decided to develop. After experiencing the technologies, his interest heightened and he has continued to want to learn about the subjects. When he was exploring the practical uses of AI, he came across it's potential benefits to world hunger and other serious issues and he realized the true potential AI had to better the world. He thanks both his Mom, and Mr.Weeks for all of their help!

Anna Renner

Student

Anna Renner is a tenth grader with a passion for horseback riding. Anna also does conditioning and loves to both ski and go outside. It was not until Anna had a true life transformation that she felt inspired to write her talk and share it with others. She would like it thank both her parents and Mrs.McKain for all of their help throughout the the process!

Brandon Winans

Brandon Winans is in seventh grade and is excited to take the Tedx stage for the first time. Some of Brandon’s activities include mountain biking,swimming, cross country, skiing, and violin. He lived in Bosnia and Turkey and has traveled to five continents and over 15 countries. Brandon was inspired by to give this talk because he wanted to make the world a better place. He would like to thank Stefanie Winans and Señora Coakley for all of their help!

Brigit Cook

Brigit is a seventh grader in the middle school, and is very excited to be giving her first Tedx Talk! Outside of school, Brigit takes voices lessons, guitar lessons, and participates as a performer in the school play each year! She is also currently writing two novels that she hopes to one day get published in the Fantasy/Action Genre. Brigit was inspired to give this talk by her love of writing, performing, and by enjoying other Ted Talks she has seen. She would like to thank her Mother, Father, Grandfather, and Mrs.Coakley for all of their support.

Cameron Sabet

Cameron is currently a sophomore and very ready to give his first Tedx Talk! Cameron is a member of the Metropolitan Washington Baha'i Choir, the Science Olympiad Team, and First Violin in the DC Youth Philharmonic. He loves losing himself in the harmony of music and liken it to the melodies of scientific discovery and religious passion. The two governing bodies of my actions lie in my ceaseless need to satisfy my spiritual and intellectual curiosity inspired Cameron’s talk. He feels that these pursuits unconditionally complement each other as he continues to grow in his intellectual and spiritual capacities.

Ethan Qiu

Ethan Qiu is a tenth grader who is eager to share his thoughts on how we shift blame from ourselves when we make a mistake. At school, Ethan enjoys being a part of The Litmag and FTC Robotics. For fun he enjoys calligraphy and running! Ethan believes that this is an excellent opportunity to share what I have felt through the year. He would like to thank Ms.Peterson for helping him with his talk.

Ihsan Ismael

Ishan Ismael is a tenth grader at Flint Hill, and a member of the Black Student Union. Ishan is Ethiopian, and once she spent an entire summer there! Ishan felt it was important for her to share her perspective, especially because it is one that isn't heard very often.

Jack Brust

Jack Brust is a seventh grader at Flint Hill and is excited to be a part of the Tedx team! Jack plays the violin, and loves elephants. In fact, he’s ridden one twice! Issues surrounding obesity inspired Jack to give this talk. He would like to thank his Mom and Ms.Coakley for all of their help!

Megan Johnson

Student

Megan Johnson is a 10th grader and is returning to the Tedx stage for the second time! Megan is a part of Student Government, Choir, Varsity Soccer, Varsity Lacrosse, as well as the Youth Leadership Greater Washington program. She is also training to climb Mt.Kilimanjaro this summer! Megan was inspired to giver her talk by understanding that high school is a very stressful time and found that teens often stop making happiness a priority. She wants to share her thoughts on how we can do simple things that will lead to happier lives. Megan would like to thank Mr.Moser for his help throughout the process!

Miles Thompson

Miles Thompson is an eleventh grader and is happy to be a part of the Tedx team this year! In school, Miles is a part of the Football, Lacrosse, and Rock Climbing team! He can also play the ukulele and the trumpet. Miles was inspired to give his talk because he always finds himself giving Ted talks in his room by himself. He would like to thank Ms.Burton for all of her help.

Morgan Starnes

Student

Morgan Starnes is a ninth grader and once more returns to the Tedx stage. She is the representative for the freshman class in the SCA, and a member of the Gender-Sexuality Alliance club. In her spare time, Morgan loves enjoying some musical theater! Centered around LGBTQ+ issues, Morgan says (she)is tired of sitting around and watching the disrespect of (her) community be the norm, and wanted to give this talk to inspire others to be an ally and support the LGBTQ+ community.

Nadia Talaksi

Student

Nadia is an 11th grader, and is eager to participate in her very first year of Tedx! Nadia plays both varsity soccer and lacrosse for Flint Hill, along with being a member of the Yearbook and the Litmag. Her favorite hobbies are traveling and hiking with her dog. Nadia was inspired to give her talk through her own personal experiences, and through getting into a car accident with her dad. It made her realize we never think about these things unless they affect us directly. She would like to thank Mrs. Higginbotham for being an amazing coach, as well as the support of her parents and friends for listening to me practice constantly!

Neha Sharma

Student

Not new to the Tedx stage, Neha is in her senior year and will be giving her second Tedx Talk! Neha plays piano, is member of the CyberPatriot team, and is the President of the Bookshelf, Flint Hill’s book club. She is also a champion napper. Neha was inspired to give this talk by internships she participated in on Capitol Hill both over the summer before her senior year of High School and over her Spring Break this year. She thought it was important to talk about working in congressional offices especially during this particular political climate under this specific administration. Neha would like to thank Mrs. McKain and her parents for helping her write and prepare her talk. She would also like to thank the Congressional Office she worked in for inspiring her to look at all we can learn from our differences.

Sean Zhou

Student

Sean is in his senior year and is very excited to be involved in Tedx this year! Inside school, Sean is in the finance club, a varsity tennis player, and a peer counselor. Turns out, Sean is very good at spinning a wide range of objects, all the way from textbooks to pencils! Sean’s personal experience with perfectionism inspired him to give this talk. It frequently influences his decision-making and attitude, motivating him to come up with a healthy approach to use perfectionism to his advantage and share this method with other troubled perfectionists. Sean would like to thank Mrs.Higginbotham for helping his revise his speech.
