TEDxIMUVisakhapatnam was organized at Indian Maritime University Visakhapatnam. The event has been proposed to help us gain a broader picture of life rather than narrow viewpoints. It is taking place in the seminar hall of IMU Visakhapatnam. Life encapsulates different elements and usually in our monotonous life we get restricted to only some. Hence this is an opportunity for attendees and Speakers to help gain understanding in different fields. All speakers are highly skilled and have immense experience and ideas in life. Daria Gai

Screenplay Writer/Director + Theater performance
Daria Gai (Dar Gai) is an Indian-Ukrainian screenwriter and film director. She grew up in Kiev, and was at once thrown into the world of theatre, philosophy, tango and a vast and colorful imagination that has aided her ever since.She was the creator of an art movement "Molfarnist". Daria has acted and directed multiple theatre productions in Kiev, working with the best producers and most critically acclaimed directors in the country. After obtaining a Bachelors and Masters degree in Philosophy with a minor in film and theatre from Kiev (Ukraine), Daria moved to India to teach screen writing and film appreciation at ‘Whistling Woods International’ (India’s premier private film school). Her first narrative feature called “Teen Aur Aadha” is being co-produced and presented by noted Indian filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. She is also on the last leg of post production for her second feature titled “Namdev Bhau” and in development stage for an Indo-Italian co-production titled “Nuns”.

Dr Jawahar Surisetti

Educationist
Dr Jawahar Surisetti is a psychologist and educationist of international repute. He advises States and central governments in India and U.S. He is also the brand ambassador of skill development for the State of Queensland. He has had various roles and responsibilities at various educational organisations. He has a PhD (Psychology) from University of Washington. He is an alumni of IHM Calcutta.

Dr T. Saraswathi Devi

Founder Lebenshilfe
Dr. T. Saraswathi Devi has spent her life for the under-privileged that generally affect the poor children. After her Masters degree in Political Science with two diplomas in Theatre Arts from Andhra University, she obtained special education and did an intensive study (or along with) in-service training in the field of mental retardation from USA and Germany. Her academic life was followed by the founding of ‘Lebenshilfe for the Mentally Challenged’ where the children are given round the clock care by 120 committed and dedicated staff. On her return to India, with support of the original organization, Sarah founded Lebenshilfe India in 1980. She has been invited to present papers in over 20 international conventions. She was also invited to Montpellier, France to submit two papers during the 12th IASSID World Congress in June, 2004.

Rear Admiral Kantamneni Ravikiran (Retd.)

Rear Admiral Indian Navy (Retd.)
Rear Admiral K. Ravikiran (Retd.) had earlier served in the Indian Navy for 37 years in various capacities in different areas such as training, administration, operation and ship building. He is a mechanical engineer from VRCE, Nagpur and an alumnus of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, College of Naval Warfare Goa, and National Defence College, New Delhi. Academically acquired a M.Phil and PG Diploma in Management. Also a certified clinical hypnotherapist. Believes that one is responsible for the situation he or she is in as one creates the environment around oneself.

Santosh Avvannavar

Chief Commercial Officer at QtPi Robotics + Author
He has a bachelors from NITK, Surathkal, he worked as a researcher at University of Eindhoven, University of Twente, and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He has over twenty-five publications of mostly research documents in national and international journals. He has also authored sixteen conference papers. He has given talk for TV and Radio on Gender Equality. His book She: Ekla Cholo Re has become acclaimed writing. He has conducted seminars and training sessions for more than 55,000 people in India and abroad over the last seven years.

Suhani Shah

Illusionist and Life coach
Suhani Shah kick-started her journey to achieve the pillars of success at a tender age of 7. She is a magician, orator, psychosomatic counselor and a powerful hypnotherapist. She carries with herself with over 2 decades of experience. Even through her magic shows, while entertaining people, Suhani always works upon removing the superstitious thoughts from the minds of the masses. She clearly informs that the magic performed by the magicians are sheer tricks based on science. Magic is an art of presentation and bears no relation with reality. An interesting blend of oration, mind, magic and performances.

Vaibhav Devanathan

Founder and CEO of LaughGuru
Vaibhav Devanathan is an alumnus of IIT Bombay, where he received the Shankar Dayal Sharma gold medal for best all rounder in the graduating batch. He quit his job at McKinsey and gave up an offer from Harvard Business School, to start LaughGuru. His idea is a combination of humour and education.
