Abhilash Salimat

Co-founder, Being Eco
Mr. Abhilash Salimath a young entrepreneur is attempting to bring a paradigm shift in waste management. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology and a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Infrastructure from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. He has worked in a Dalit community for six months and helped them build waterless toilets as water was scarce in the village. He also promoted the safety of women through the use of these toilets. It was here that Mr Salimath realised that his true calling was to work in the socio-environment sector. He decided to put his passion into practice and co-founded a waste management company called Being Eco.

Karan Singh

Psychological illusionist
Karan Singh Magic is India's leading psychological illusionist. Mr Karan Singh fuses behavioural psychology, subconscious suggestion, hypnosis and misdirection to create a unique brand of modern magic that involves mind reading. He is a magician, hypnotist, mind reader and also a psychological illusionist. He has performed solo shows like ‘Venexis’ , ‘Dybukk 13’ ‘Illusionati’ ‘Merchant Of Menace’. He has done over a hundered shows across the country. Mr Karan Singh has performed for some of the greatest magicians such as Derren Brown , Penn and Teller and Dynamo. He was the Curator of ‘Jaadunagri’ a festival of magic and illusion at the 10 Heads Festival 2015.

Karthik Hariharan

Mr. Kartik Hariharan has completed his B.E in Chemical Engineering from MIT, Manipal and worked as a Forensics Analyst at PWC, Gurgaon for a year. He is a Fellow at Teach for India. Currently Mr. Hariharan is working at Teach for India as an Associate for Alumni Operations in Delhi. He is an exemplary teacher who blends purposeful humor thus ensuring that the teaching learning process is funfilled and result oriented. He is a role model for his students . He believes in giving back to the society. His zest and zeal in all spheres of work is infectious .

Nisha Singh

Advisor to Deputy CM, New Delhi
Ms Nisha Singh is Advisor to the Deputy Chief Minister, Delhi Government and In- Charge- designing and implementing reforms in the Integrated Child Development Service Scheme of the Women and Child Development Department of Delhi Government. Ms Singh is an electronics engineer and a post graduate in Business Administration from London Business School. After her MBA in finance she worked with Barclays in London and Google in India. She was first introduced to Social Sector work while working with Google. Her quest for solving social issues inspired her to contest Municipal elections as an independent candidate to try the route of governance to bring about a social change. She was elected the city councillor of Gurgaon in the year 2011. During her tenure she did exemplary work by closely connecting with the citizens and coordinating efforts of NGOs, RWAs and government agencies to solve varied issues.

Poonam Bagai

Founder, CanKids
Ms. Poonam Bagai, an Economics (Honours) student from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and a Class I Government of India Officer (Indian Railways) gave up her career after she had cancer and related depression in 2000-01. She has dedicated her life to ' War against Cancer'. In a short time span of 13 years Ms. Bagai has founded and grown a pan India organization, CanKids...KidsCan, as a National Society for Change for childhood cancer in India. She has won several awards for her work including the Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award, Nargis Dutt Cancer Conqueror Award, iCongo Karamveer Puruskar, for outstanding contribution in the field of social services. In 2015 the Indian Academy of Pediatrics felicitated her for yeoman services to child health in India. She lives up to her motto, “Because I am able …Because I can”.

Prof. Maharaja K Pandit

Professor M.K. Pandit, Dean, Faculty of Science, University Of Delhi. He was awarded the highly prestigious Radcliffe Fellowship by Harvard University in 2015, where he undertook research for his book Life in the Himalaya: An Ecosystem at Risk. In recognition of his international standing in the area of sustainability, conservation biology, climate- water-food-energy nexus, Prof. Pandit was awarded Ngee Ann Kongsi, Distinguished Professorship by National University of Singapore. He is a Fellow of National Academy of Sciences of India since 2014 and was also elected Fellow of Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi (2016-17). He has served as visiting Professor at some of the highly ranked Universities in the world. He has been actively advising various GOI Ministries on issues related to water, environmental conservation and development in the Himalayan region.

Sailesh Mishra

Mr. Sailesh Mishra is a social entrepreneur and Founder of Silver Innings Group, a community dedicated to senior citizens in India. He has won several awards including, the National Award ‘Karamaveer Puraskar’ in 2008 and ‘Karmaveer Jyoti’ in 2016. His remarkable work in the field of Dementia and Elder Rights Advocacy has brought him accolades, respect and support from many renowned organizations around the world. Mr. Mishra has represented India in the United Nations in New York at ‘Open-ended Working Group on Ageing for Elder Rights.’ He has also been featured in ‘Satyamev Jayate’.

Simran Rawat

Journalism student, Lady Shri Ram College
Ms Simran Rawat is currently pursuing Journalism from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University. She is an avid writer, currently working on content writing and editing for publications in college. She is working with Connecting Dreams Foundation to create sustainable business models to empower women from marginalized rural households. She feels passionately about women empowerment.

Founder, White Print
Ms.Upasana Makati is the founder and publisher of White Print - India's first English lifestyle magazine in braille for the visually impaired. Realizing the absolute absence of reading literature for the visually impaired in India, she started White Print in 2013. Printed at the National Association for the Blind, Mumbai, the magazine is circulated across the country. Ms. Upasana was in the Forbes India 30 Under 30 list in 2016, Smart CEO, Top 50 start ups in India and received the Loreal Femina Women's Award for Science and Innovation.

Vicky Roy

Photographer
Mr. Vicky Roy an outstanding photographer is originally from West Bengal. He ran away from home and started working as a rag picker at the New Delhi Railway Station, before he was rehabilitated by the Salaam Baalak Trust, Delhi. He studied photography at Triveni Kala Sangam and then apprenticed under the celebrated photographer Mr. Anay Mann. In 2007, he held his first solo exhibition titled, “Street Dream” at the India Habitat Centre; supported by the British High Commission. In 2008 he was selected by the US based Maybach Foundation to photo document the reconstruction of the World Trade Center in New York. He was awarded the MIT Media Fellowship in 2014. He was also in the Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 list in 2016.
