At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Karan Vaish

Karan Vaish, Rover System Engineer from TeamIndus – Axiom Research Labs, is the youngest engineer to build a Lunar Rover, ECA, for space flight. His forte, mechanical engineering, and experiences in designing quite a few unmanned rover systems throughout professional, university and school years, landed him with the opportunity to design actual rover fit for space flight back in 2013.

Nikheel Aphale

Nikheel Aphale is a calligrapher based in Noida who has designed many book covers for leading publishers from India using calligraphy and handwriting. His calligraphy practice primarily emphasizes on the abstraction of letterforms, which further gets translated into different mediums, be it paintings, logos or products. Nikheel religiously collects matchboxes, vintage stuff, plain-notebooks.

Reema Ahmad

Reema Ahmad, Co-founder of and a Facilitator at Candidly, and Chief-Editor at Ed3D, works towards building an understanding of prevalent attitudes on gender and sexuality as they manifest in media and through culture. In the process, she hopes to raise awareness and question existing stereotypes, without creating an atmosphere of fear, guilt or shame – feelings that are often associated with sexuality, gender and abuse. Reema believes that silence fuels misconception and stereotypes, and the only way forward, is candidly. Her main area of interest is Child Sexual Abuse Awareness and Prevention. She has conducted various workshops on the subject for adults and children over the past three years.

Stalin K. is a media and human rights activist, with 26 years’ experience pioneering new models of community media. He is a teacher, trainer and an internationally acclaimed documentary filmmaker with several awards under his belt. Passionate about gender equality, an advocate of dismantling patriarchy and one of India’s leading exponents of community radio, campaign design and community video, he has designed more than 20 campaigns and events on various human rights issues. The president of Community Radio Forum – India, he was a part of the team that drafted much of the Community Radio Policy in operation today. He was also a member of a team that set up one of the first community radio projects in Kutch. He currently leads Video Volunteers , an international organization dedicated to empowering marginalized voices by setting up community media projects around the world.

He’s starred in over 30 productions , written over a dozen scripts that have been performed in over 10 different cities around the world, most recently picking up an award in Dubai.
