In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Clarence 江政偉 Kang

Clarence Kang is an extraordinarily talented young man born with autism. An autistic savant -- a pianist and an artist. He is Asia’s first pianist with autism that held his own recital concert. He was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder). In his childhood, he easily memorized musical notes, he was able to arrange, transcribe music and analyze complicated chords without having proper education and training. At the age of 10, the young prodigy received formal education in music under the notable musical professor, Dr. Nicholas Ong and Mr. Tay Cher Siang. He is able to play music based on his photographic memory and he has composed a musical piano piece inspired by his life. Dr. Lee Su Kim 李赐金

Dr. Lee Su Kim is a bestselling Malaysian author, educator, language consultant and cultural activist. She is a founding member and the first woman President of the Peranakan Baba Nyonya Association of Kuala Lumpur & Selangor. A sixth generation nyonya, she has published ten books of nonfiction and fiction. Her Doctorate in Education from the University of Houston explores the multiple identities and identity constructions of non-native English language speakers. Dr. Lee was an Associate Professor at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia where she lectured, researched and published widely on language, culture and identity. Kenny Yek 易家文

As the ex-co founder of IDP Media, Kenny Yek, who is the creative director and has keen interest in Arts and Technology. He has created a wide range of videos using various visual style combined with the cinematic aesthetic. His objective is to go beyond the standard format to create new spatial experiences through live audio visual performances and visual art installation that transcend time and space. With the technology evolved and as a creative director, he discovered a new media movement, Technology + Art, using available technology and incorporate it with programming and coding in the application for large scale projection or LED display for performances, launches and events for mass audience experiences. 丘忠君 Heo Chong Chin

美国德州农工大学昆虫学系博士，关丹人。丘忠君 2016 年获得大马驻华盛顿大使馆颁发的 Perdana 学者奖 (研究，创新和出版)，曾是吉隆坡医药研究所昆虫研究人员。自 2009 年起，成为玛拉工艺大学医学院讲师。马来西亚寄生虫与热带医学学会 (MSPTM) 前名誉秘书和财政，现为该会助理秘书。北美法医昆虫协会 (NAFEA) 和欧洲法医昆虫学协会 (EAFE) 准会员，2016 年成为美国昆虫学会认证的昆虫学家 (BCE)。 Dr. Heo Chong Chin from Kuantan, Malaysia is fascinated with insects. He is a Ph.D. holder from the Department of Entomology, Texas A&M University. He obtained the Perdana Scholar Award (Research, Innovation and Publication) in year 2016 and he was an entomology research officer at the Institute for Medical Research, Kuala Lumpur. Since year 2009, he has served as a lecturer of the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Teknologi MARA. He is the current Assistant Secretary, and was the former Honorary Secretary and Treasurer for the Malaysian Society of Parasitology and Tropical Medicine (MSPTM). He is also an associate member of the North American Forensic Entomology Association (NAFEA) and the European Association for Forensic Entomology (EAFE). Dr Heo is also a Board-Certified Entomologist (BCE) since year 2016.

孫春美 Soon Choon Mee

戏剧教育工作者、戏剧联盟主席、云手文创基金会顾问。孙春美 1988 年自台湾中国文化大学戏剧系影剧组毕业，加入马来西亚艺术学院戏剧系，引进台湾小剧场创作概念，作品无数；2002 年获马大表演艺术计划硕士。曾担任新纪元学院戏剧与影像系主任，今为该系兼职讲师；近年致力推动社区美学教育，策划了多场社区艺术嘉年华。2016 年受邀于红姐姐工作室，编导儿少剧场，作品有《找到了》（2016）及《月亮有歌》（2017）。

張捷惟 Fred Chong Kyan Vui

張盛德 Chang Sang Teck

本地资深音乐创作人兼唱片制作人。张盛德自马来西亚艺术学院纯美术系毕业，于 1987 年加入“KITA's 激荡工作坊” 。早年创立海螺民歌餐厅，是大马中文音乐创作重要推手之一，多年来致力推动本土音乐风气。擅长词曲创作，歌声有极高的辨识度，音乐风格多元，有“大马李宗盛”之美誉。2016 年 1月，张盛德回归创作歌手身份重新出发，推出个人专辑《我是好命人》，佳评如潮。代表作品有：动力火车《想你是临睡的习惯》、梁静茹《迷路》等。 Veteran music composer, record producer; Chang Sang Teck joined the KITA Workshop in year 1987 after graduating from the Fine Arts Department of the Malaysian Institute of Art. He founded Halo Cafe in his early years. As one of the important promoters for Malaysian Chinese production, he devoted himself in creating awareness about local music for many years. He is an expert lyricist and music arranger, having a most recognizable voice with various music genres and is celebrated as “The Malaysian Tsung-Sheng Lee” (a Taiwanese renowned music artist). Chang returned to the music scene in January 2016 and started afresh as singer-songwriter, by launching his personal album “I Am Born Fortunate” which amassed positive comments. His representative musical work includes Taiwanese rock band, Power Station’s “Xiang ni shi lin shui qian de xi guan” and Malaysian female singer, Fish Leong’s “mi lu”.

林佩雯 Lim Pui Wan

袖珍艺术家。林佩雯虽毕业自机械工程系，却因为对袖珍艺术不间断的热情而毅然投身全职袖珍模型创作。她认为袖珍艺术通过实在的作品唤起人们的念旧情怀，从中带给人们生命力，犹如她的部分创作反映出她对生活中的记忆。她选择袖珍艺术作为记载生命中某些感性时刻的媒介，因为它真实的存在不会随光阴衰退而淡化原有的情感。她的愿望，是把生活里曾经的平凡，创造出当下的不平凡。 Having graduated with a Mechanical Engineer degree in year 2014, Lim Pui Wan is still passionate about Art, especially in miniature art way back in year 2007. She became a miniature artist to pursue her passion full time. She believes that miniature art invoked a sense of nostalgia and inspires people to reflect on their memories just as she was inspired by her life’s moments. She chose to preserve life’s sentimental and monumental moments eternally in form of miniatures because they are etched for eternity. Her motto is to create extraordinary from an ordinary life moment.

梁志文 Leong Jyh Wen

梁澤宗 Leong Chek Chong

马来西亚辩论界资深前辈，亦被称作辩论大师。马来西亚知名辩手如胡渐彪、陈勋亮、萧慧敏、颜江瀚等，都受过他的培训与指导。他常受世界各地举行的辩论之邀成为赛会评审，其中包括：世界华语辩论锦标赛与国际华语辩论邀请赛。初中一加入公教中学辩论队的梁泽宗认为，辩论最好从小学开始，因为这是一个以说服为基础，同时要去面对挑战的演说项目。他属于策略型导师，“学者知识，学长气场，丝毫没有架子”，是辩手们对他的印象。 Malaysian debate senior veteran, Leong Chek Chong also known as the debate master. Malaysian well-known debater such as Hu Jianbiao, Chen Xunliang, Xiao Huimin, Yan Jianghan, etc., have been trained and guided by him. He has often been invited to be the judge for debate tournaments in all over the world, that includes the World Mandarin Debate Championship and the International Chinese Debating Competition. According to Leong Chek Chong, who has joined the Catholic high school debate team in his secondary form one, that the debate is best to begin with primary school, as the debate is built on persuasion, meanwhile to face the challenges of the speech topic. He belongs to the strategic mentor, and “a knowledgeable scholar with a senior charisma yet humble”, is the debaters’ impression of him.

欧阳应霁 Craig Au Yeung Ying Chai

漫画家、饮食旅游生活作家、饮食文化策展人。欧阳应霁，生于香港，长期关注中港台以及国际生活美学趋势发展，积极投身实践，著有《两个人住》、《回家真好》、《半饱》、《天生是饭人》、《香港味道》、《味道台北》、《味道上海》等等生活书写。2014 年于香港创立 “味道图书馆”。隔年，于北京策划 “应霁半饱厨房”，为当代饮食美学生活打造不同场景，提供丰富内容。 Comic-strip artist, food & travel writer, and food curator; Craig Au Yeung Ying Chai is well established as a cross media artist from Hong Kong. Paying close and keen attention to culinary development and trends worldwide, Craig dedicates his time and effort in recording and participating in local food and lifestyle movement, with the special focus on food and creative education for the younger generation. Craig has published over 20 books on design and lifestyle, food and travel. These including best sellers such as “Living Together”, “Home, Chinese Home”, “Half-Full”, “Born to Cook”, “Weido Hong Kong”, “A Taste of Taipei”, “A Taste of Shanghai”. He set up Taste library at PMQ Hong Kong in year 2014 and planned the food flea market, launching his first “Craig’s half-full kitchen” event at Beijing in year 2015 to provide a rich background and create different occasions for contemporary food and lifestyle.

王俊凱 Darren Wang

He specialized in encryption. He has work experience with Google's headquarter and SK Telecom USA as well as years of experience in startups. He also invested in MaiCoin, AMIS, CoolBitx, BlockSeer (Silicon Valley), I.X and other new start ups. He hopes to apply his immense network resources to enhance Taiwan’s future to ensure Taiwan's startup community is well informed and up to-date in the industry.

王俊豪 Jun Ong

Jun Ong is an architect and light artist with a Master in Architecture from the University of Westminster, London (2014). He was the first Malaysian to be selected to showcase at iLight Marina Bay in year 2016, Asia’s leading light festival in Singapore with his interactive light installation, “Bolt”. His lighting installation, “Star” was nominated for World’s Best in Spatial Art at the Media Architecture Biennale 2016 (MAB16) in Sydney. He was also commissioned by Goethe-Institut Thailand and Bangkok Arts & Culture Centre (BACC) to produce an urban interactive light installation at Siam Center. 建筑师兼灯光艺术家。王俊豪，伦敦威斯敏斯特大学建筑系硕士 (2014)，第一位大马人在 2016 年新加坡灯光节《照亮滨海湾》展出灯光装置艺术作品“闪电” (Bolt)。同年，他的另一份作品“筑星” (Star) 则在悉尼举办的第五届国际媒体建筑双年展被提名为“世界最佳空间艺术”。此外，他还受托为泰国歌德学院与曼谷艺术文化中心联合举办的《城市媒体艺术》计划，在暹罗商场中心展出融合现代科技的互动灯光装置艺术作品。

破浪布袋戲 Ombak Potehi

破浪布袋戏，前身为成立于 2015 年的波浪工作坊 (Ombak Ombak ARTStudio)。这群不同领域的青年延续布袋戏箇中精髓，向槟城老戏班 “鸣玉凤掌中班” 学习布偶操纵与其说唱艺术。曾改编传统剧目《路遥知马力之天赐良缘》（2015）与《西游记之观世音收伏红孩儿》（2016）等折子戏，更按槟城历史与文化特色而编写《邂逅槟榔》（2017）。后者结合本土语言、音乐和布偶服饰等，使其更贴近槟城 19 世纪末特色。 Ombak Potehi is set up by Ombak Ombak ARTStudio in year 2015, comprising of a group of young people, they learned the art of puppetry, narration and music from the masters of the Beng Geok Hong Puppet Troupe of Penang. They aspire to revitalize the essence of Hokkien Potehi glove puppet theatre. The group has performed 3 stories that were written and produced by the group members themselves, they are The Story of Malek (2015); The Monkey King Adventures (2016) and Kisah Pulau Pinang - The Story of Penang (2017). The latter has combined the local languages, music and glove puppet costume to depict authentic Penang features that belonged to the era of late 19th century. Potehi - glove puppet theatre

羅浩庭 Helios Loo

主修数码媒体和视觉艺术的罗浩庭，曾是 The One Academy 数码摄影客席讲师。作为 Corbis 合约摄影师，他在二十多个国家授权其摄影作品。2013 年，他与三位友人创办了“原字印务”，旨在把传统活版印刷，结合现代美感和手工独特性的印刷商品，让更多人认识这门技艺。2015 年怡保艺术节，他以大马多语文化作为蓝本和多年历史的铅字作为游戏载体，发行“众字成城”桌面游戏，因此荣获 2016 年度《金点设计奖》。 Helios Loo is major in digital media and visual communication, former guest lecturer for the digital photography course at The One Academy. As a contributing photographer for the Corbis Corporation, he published his photos in over 20 countries. In year 2013, Helios and three of his friends have founded The Alphabet Press with the purpose to combine traditional letterpress printing with modern aesthetic and handmade uniqueness of printed goods so that more people know about this skill. During Ipoh Art Festival in year 2015, he developed a letterpress board game, which subsequently won the Golden Pin Award in year 2016.

許慧珊 Echo Koh Wee Sun

1999 年《星洲日报》票选十大最受欢迎本地作家。生于马六甲的许慧珊，毕业自吉隆坡韩新学院新闻系，曾任记者和市场部经理，在多家中文报章与杂志的固定专栏发表作品。已出版著作有《单身俱乐部》、《无聊才结婚》、《快乐女人》、《左雍右为》等。2002 年她回归家庭，成为全职妈妈。尔后，她发起了三个非营利组织：柔南黄色行动小组、南马特别孩子关怀协会与 47 号课室，分别为社运单位、关怀特殊儿单位与亲子成长活动单位。 She was enlisted by Sin Chew Daily as 10 most celebrated writers in year 1999. Born in Malacca, Echo Koh Wee Sun was once a reporter and marketing manager after having graduated from HanXing College of Journalism and Communication. As a regular columnist, she has published numbers of articles in several press and magazines. She has written a few books like: “Dan Shen Ju Le Bu”, “Wu Liao Cai Jie Hun”, “Kuai Le Nv Ren”, “Zuo Yong You Wei”, etc. In year 2002, she returned to her family and became a full-time mother. Thereafter, she has initiated three non-profit organisations, Johor Yellow Flame (JYF), Persatuan Penyayang Kanak-kanak Istimewa Johor Bahru (Special Child Care Association Johor Bahru), and Class 47 respectively for social movement, caring for special-needs child, and parent-child activities.

龍妍燕 Haze Long

Haze Long is a highly sought after speed painter and muralist. She uses a mixture of mediums from traditional oil paint, pastel to spray paint and pyrography. She is renown for her post-impressionist murals and produced around a 100 work of mural art. She has performed speed painting for more than 40 events and her fastest record is 3 minutes. She is one of the selected 20 artists who painted a total of eighty 3D murals in the Malaysia’s biggest mural project - Atmosphere in Seri Kembangan. She founded Art Misfits in year 2011 and her studio has created many beautiful creative mural and artworks for high profile clients and won an award for top 5% performer in the Cradle Fund Coach & Grow Programme in year 2014. 速画家兼壁画艺术家。龙妍燕，大马最大壁画项目中完成共 80 幅三维立体壁画的 20 位艺术家之一。她以壁画和后印象主义艺术闻名，绘制逾 100 幅壁画作品；速画表演超过 40 场，最快速画纪录为 3 分钟。她在 2011 年创办了 Art Misfits，该公司于 2014 年在摇篮基金推行的培训计划 (Cradle Fund Coach & Grow Programme 2014) 中成为前 5% 的最佳表现者。
