This year, TEDxNPSISSingapore is entering uncharted territory, while delivering on the TED mission- to bring ideas that matter to communities that need them the most. In a world where creativity and research are increasingly seen as the preserve of an unproductive elite, and where facts are fast becoming a contested commodity rather than a guaranteed right, we're ready to stand up for great, eccentric and unbelievably remarkable ideas. From fixing education in segregated societies to rebuilding war-torn countries, to figuring out the inner machinework of our brains to making science great again, expect a Saturday unlike any other. There's only one dress code down here; Leave your biases at home, but bring your cortex.

Akshaya Rajesh

She enjoys all outdoor activities and sports, especially basketball, and tries to carry good vibes where she goes whether its through a diverse range of music or horrible puns. Kartike Khandelwal

Kartike Khandelwal is a casual photographer, and physics enthusiast who has interests in aeronautical engineering, aero-modelling, Theoretical Physics and the nature of science. His talk was aimed at alleviating the perception that vague theoretical concepts of physics such as dimensions, infinities and alternate realities are of not consequence to us in real life.

Lavanya Prakash

Amateur botanist, freelance photojournalist and wholehearted naturalist, and a senior-year student too- If you could sum Lavanya Prakash up in one sentence, it would be, in her own words, somebody who is dedicated to increase awareness about the benefits of youths spending more time in nature and the message of conserving the environment.

Mohit Lalvani is presently Head of Commercial at Eleven Sports. He previously founded a media business that created content for traditional and new media distribution platforms, and worked as a TV anchor for news and sports and meeting and interviewing some of the most accomplished entrepreneurs and athletes from different parts of the world. He also served as an instructor at the Presidential Classroom at Georgetown University over two summers. In addition, Mr Lalvani is a published author for The Business Times, New Paper, Hindustan Times, Gulf News and describes himself as someone who sees the glass full when many will see it half empty. Full of interesting, quirky stories accumulated over his decades of experience across diverse industries, there's nothing Mohit doesn't love more than capturing the essence of experiences through storytelling.

Prachi Pathak

Committed psychology student, freelance blogger, casual naturalist and wholesome orator Prachi Pathak is concerned about where our society hasn't made progress. She's determined to strike through a message- that sex is alright, and we need to fundamentally change our attitude toward society's oldest taboo. But then again, raised eyebrows don't daunt new ideas.

Shivani Ekkanath

He aspires to pursue International Relations or Economics in the future. He believes that there is no greater artist than Ed Sheeran, and no greater show than Game of Thrones. Most of us beg to disagree, but he'll laugh any disagreement off with anyone.

Yashaswini Modak

Yashaswini is a student who has always dreamt of becoming a vet. In her free time, however, she's a huge fan of reading, writing, and equality.
