In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Cenk Demirkıran

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cenk Demirkıran was born in 1976, Van, Turkey. He graduated from İstanbul University Communication Faculty, Radio TV Cinema Department. He studied French at Charles de Gaulle University in 1999, Lille, France. He completed his master degree at İstanbul University Communication Faculty, Journalism Department. He did his doctorate at Radio TV Cinema Department of İstanbul University Communication Faculty.He wrote his doctorate thesis about transnational television broadcasting by the support of Republic of France, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He made academic works in France with scholarship of Foundation Albert I of Prince of Monaco. He worked at Maltepe University Fine Arts Faculty, as an associate professor, Head of Film Department and Head of Visual Arts Department between 2009-2013. He still works at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Communication Faculty as an associate professor. He worked in several tv channels as a director and radio channels as a producer since 1993. He makes advertisement and promotional films, short movies and documentaries. He has 16 films in his filmography and 2 books.
