Theme: Falling & Rising - L'arte di cadere e rialzarsi

With this event we aim to create an interactive atmosphere where different people are able to discuss how they managed to rise after hitting rock bottom and how after learning from failure they were able to achieve extraordinary things. This big topic will be addressed by a variety of speakers from different areas and nationalities, each will provide a creative insight on specific cases and share their ideas to stimulate creative conflict resolution in a personal and professional sphere.

Alice Pace

Freelance scientific journalist

Alice Pace is a freelance scientific journalist on themes as science, medicine and innovation. Her last work is the book “Hot! La scienza sotto lelenzuola”. After a degree in chemistry and pharmaceutical technologies and a PhD in the nanotechnology field, she has studied scientific journalism at SISSA in Trieste. In 2013 she won a scholarship at Harvard as Armenise-Harvard Science Writer Fellow and in 2014 she was awarded of the Premio Piazzano for divulgation of scientific themes.

Charles Williams

Professor of Bocconi University, Researcher on the topics of knowledge, evolution, growth, stakeholders and resilience

Charlie Williams is a strategy scholar at Bocconi University with an interest in how people, structure, and experience affect the evolution of firms. He has studied how firms adapt their knowledge while expanding abroad, how executive movement through firms affects the likelihood of entering and exiting markets, and how entrepreneurial firms face the challenges of growth. His research has been published in Management Science and Strategic Management Journal, and he has served on the editorial boards of Strategic Management Journal and Organization Science. He teaches strategy and entrepreneurship at Bocconi and previously taught at University of Illinois and Duke University. Before earning his PhD at the University of Michigan he worked in journalism and market research.

Daniele Molmenti

Daniele Molmenti is an Italian athlete and the Olympic Champion of the men’s kayak slalom at the 30t h Olympics in 2012 in London. From 2013 onwards he has been active as a coach and he has been giving motivational trainings in schools and companies.

Sandrine Cina

Sandrine has 7 years of experience in the field of Diversity & Inclusion. She holds a BA in Political Science and a MA in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) in Geneva. She founded her first organization at age 24, while still in College. She has been awarded multiple times for her work: Ashoka Social Entrepreneurship Competition, Davos 50 and Global Shaper of the World Economic Forum and MassChallenge Switzerland Finalist. She has also been a speaker at various conferences such as TEDx or the World Economic Forum in Davos, where she contributed to a panel on the “Future of Inclusion in Europe”.

Tanvi Jayaraman

Researcher on gender violence issues

Tanvi Jayaraman is a Stanford graduate in with a BA in Human Biology where she focussed on Women’s Health. She is passionate about the topics of philanthropy, social justice and gender issues. Currently she is executing a research project in Calabria as a Fulbright Scholar. Her research focuses on the survivors of gender violence and what can be done for them on an institutional level, moving within thecultural and historical boundaries that characterise the south of Italy.

Umberto graduated in Bocconi in 2006, he is also a musician and a fighter.
