Theme: Beyond Economy

At this TEDxReykjavíkSalon event, we are going beyond the very concept of value. Does it sound blurry? Here is how we will take up this challenge:

The current economic system, we are told, is failing. We invite you to look at the underlying assumptions behind it, assumptions that lead us to the following questions: What do we ultimately value in our society and how? Having that in mind, how can we move towards valuing different things or, differently valuing the same things? Are these things changing their identity because of the value we attribute to them? From such philosophical questions to practical applications of value, we will explore the realms of alternative economies in our second TEDxReykjavikSalon event. By far, more than a question of money or currency, we will show how the idea of value lies at the heart of the way the world is connected globally in multiple ways. Join us, we will value your participation beyond time and space.
