Affable by nature and hardworking by choice, I enjoy taking up challenging situations and transforming unexpected obstacles into stepping stones for success. What motivates me is the constant need for change, be it in my professional or personal environment. As a highly motivated individual who wishes to have her thoughts heard, TEDxYouth@Gachibowli will be the right platform for me to make an impact. Feminism is a topic around which revolves so much ambiguity, it is a widely misunderstood phenomenon. I feel that we wouldn’t be facing this issue; there wouldn’t be the need to fight for equality, if for once we stop looking at everything from a gender perspective. Much in line with this, my talk will be on “Thinking without gender barriers”.

I am currently in the 12th grade at Oakridge International School, having taken up commerce with math. An ardent MUNner and public speaker, I also have a keen interest in economics and politics and would like to pursue the same later on. When not playing basketball, sketching, being sarcastic or making a bad pun (they’re actually brilliant), I spend my time catching up on my favourite TV shows, House of Cards being one of them, playing Pokemon or watching standup comedy. If you see someone running his hands through his hair, being witty and sarcastic, there’s a very high chance it’s me. Always been one to voice myself wherever I am, I believe this is the perfect opportunity to share my thoughts yet again. My idea is centred around the thought of unconscious biases that one forms and will continue to form over the period of one’s life- all from the take of a high schooler.

I’m currently in 11th grade of the CBSE curriculum, studying commerce with computers at Oakridge International School. Apart from doing work, I spend most of my time creating music or playing football, the former of which I hope to pursue in the future as well. I’ve great interest for various forms of art and feel they’ve taught and continue to teach me a variety of skills. I’m very exciTED to use this platform as an opportunity to deliver an ACCEPTional talk about creativity, its limitations, and new possibilities, hoping to bring to light a new perspective on the matter.

I'm currently a junior at Oakridge International School pursuing Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at a higher level in the IB Diploma Program. I enjoy many activities like Classical Dance, playing Golf, and listening to music, but my strongest passion lies in Math and Science, bringing me to my topic and reason for speaking at TEDxYouth Gachibowli. Math is a subject that I feel is under appreciated by many, and for that reason, I wish to use TEDxYouth Gachibowli as a platform to bring about a new perspective to a topic of math many of you may find quite unnecessary and confusing - probability. Rather than explaining what it is and how we use it to find the chance of an event happening, I want to engage everyone while disproving and countering many aspects of probability, which may have a bigger take away than many of you may suppose.

I like to think of myself as pretty normal. I’m currently in my first year of IBDP, studying English, Economics and Physics at higher level. I play the ukulele (and guitar, and piano) and have been in love with public speaking for as long as I can remember. If you ever want to know where to find me, writing music in a candle-lit room is a pretty good place to start. I’ve always felt that mental health is overlooked in our society, and that we have stigmatised and shamed it beyond belief. My talk, titled “The Things I Wish My Mother Knew About Depression”, surrounds the things that we don’t often hear about the illness, and what we can do to bring better awareness toward it.

Hello everyone! I'm currently an 11th grader pursuing the IBDP at Oakridge International School. Being a person who is immediately drawn to things I find intriguing, I've developed interests that I'm extremely passionate about over the years with Harry Potter topping the list that includes: theatre, MUNs, football and athletics. I first picked up the Philosopher's Stone when I was about the same age as Harry and growing up with him has helped mould my life in unimaginable ways. Harry Potter brought about a paradigm shift in the way I looked at life and what I wanted to do. Our society has forced most of us into developing a very narrow minded way of looking at college, careers and life itself, and changing this is exactly what my talk's aim will be.

I’m pretty much your typical high schooler. I’m currently in 11th grade, studying Economics, Business Management, and English at a higher level in the IB Diploma Programme. In the future, I would like to pursue a career in Economics. When I’m not studying, you can find me listening to music, playing basketball or binge watching T.V shows. I’ve always had a fascination with public speaking, therefore, I decided that I wanted to make my voice heard. I’ve always felt that divorce is a subject matter that is looked down upon in our society, nor is it spoken about much. My talk diverges from the traditional talks about divorce by proposing that divorces are, in fact, a positive step in order to move forward.
