Andy Molinsky is a Professor at Brandeis University's International Business School. Andy received his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and M.A. in Psychology from Harvard University. He also holds a Master's Degree in International Affairs from Columbia University and a B.A. in International Affairs from Brown University. Andy's work helps people develop the insights and courage necessary to act outside their personal and cultural comfort zones when doing important, but challenging, tasks in work and life. His research and writing have been featured in Harvard Business Review, Inc. Magazine, the Financial Times, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, NPR and Voice of America. His first book, Global Dexterity, received the Axiom Award (Silver Medal) for Best Business Book in International Business & Globalization and has been used widely in organizations around the world. His new book Reach was published with Penguin Random House in January 2017.
Chandler Rosenberger
Assistant Professor of International and Global Studies and Sociology
Chandler Rosenberger is Assistant Professor of International and Global Studies and Sociology. A historical sociologist specializing in the cultural foundations of politics, Mr. Rosenberger is especially interested in the intellectual roots of political revolutions.
Mr. Rosenberger studied History and Philosophy at Dartmouth College and Philosophy of Religion at the University of Oxford. From 1992 to 1994, he covered the collapse of Czechoslovakia and the war in Yugoslavia as a journalist and as a fellow of the Institute of Current World Affairs. After seven years in Europe Mr. Rosenberger returned to the United States to write a dissertation at Boston University on the dissident intellectuals who led Czechoslovakia’s “Velvet Revolution.” He has written for scholarly journals and for such publications as Critical Review, Human Rights Watch, World Policy Journal, and The Wall Street Journal. He is now writing a book on the resurgence of nationalism.
Florence Graves
Founding Director of The Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism
Florence Graves is founding director and editor-in-chief of The Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism at Brandeis University, the first independent investigative reporting center based at a university. Her work, which focuses on revealing abuses of government and corporate power and inequities between the powerful and the powerless, including trafficking, slavery, and other human rights abuses, has led to congressional hearings, government investigations, passage of state, federal and international laws, and important public and corporate policy reforms. Recently, the Institute’s Justice Brandeis Law Project,which focuses on investigating potential wrongful convictions and systemic flaws in the U.S. criminal justice system, led Massachusetts judges to overturn two wrongful convictions. Graves founded and edited the national political and investigative journal, Common Cause Magazine, whose many awards include the National Magazine Award for General Excellence.
Hauke Ziessler
Graduate Student
Growing up in Germany, the USA and South Africa Hauke Ziessler became fascinated in cultural exchange and positive cooperation. Finding himself in a dichotomy of identities he began to explore cross cultural artistic exchange through his undergraduate studies in Germany and his work in Bhutan, Israel, Nepal, Ethiopia and India. Recently he began a Dual Degree Master’s Program in Conflict Resolution and Coexistence Studies/Near Eastern and Judaic Studies at Brandeis University, where he began to explore the role of his identity in art and social transformation. Through his experiences, he gained insights into the fluidity of identity and its complexities.
Rebecca Groner
Student + Improv Performer
Rebecca Groner is a senior at Brandeis University who spent a lot of time improvising and some of her time studying Health: Science, Society, & Policy, Business, and Social Justice & Social Policy. She has been an active member of the comedy troupe TBA Improv since her first semester at Brandeis. During the past few summers, she studied improv at Upright Citizens Brigade and interned at various healthcare startups. Rebecca hopes to change the world through laughter, relationship building, and empathy.
