In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Chris Schrader

When an individual has experiences as varied as holding a Guinness World Record when they were 16 to starting the largest student-led organisation in Asia, there really is a lot to talk about. Chris will be explaining the importance students play in tackling serious issues whilst displaying the means in which students can contribute to global movements like fighting slavery.

Eric Wishart

Misinformation and political propaganda in the world’s largest democracy often go undetected - until they have brutal real-world impact. Former Editor-in-chief of Agency France Presse, Eric Wishart, will be exploring the current fake news crisis which seems to be the latest reassuring conclusion drawn by those on the losing side of 2016, from Brexit to the US elections to the Italian referendum.

Joy Lee

Ever wondered how to conquer the inner beast that is holding you back? Joy Lee will reveal how she stepped from behind the shadow of stress into the light of success. Using this experience, Joy will illustrate the surprising origins of stress and the steps that we can use to mold them into instruments for our own success.

Larissa Tang

To Plato, art was imitation of nature, but in the 19th century, photography took over that function, and in the 20th, abstract art overturned the whole notion that art was about representation. So what is art? Does it have to be beautiful? Expressive? Original? Uplifting? Intellectual? Larissa will explore the subjective nature of art and examine the role of Art in inspiring the human interaction.

Sana Khullar

How do we know whether the decisions we make are rational? By examining these decisions through the perspective of the relatively new field of behavioural economics, Sana Khullar will explain how our decisions may not be as logical as we think they are, and the wide ranging implications of this knowledge.
